I was considering driving up from Omaha to hear Andrew talk about his new book on Tergar’s campus in Madison, WI on October 14-15. (see his events page). My initial search into places to stay has not been successful due to a home football game. Anyone else considering attending or live in the area that might have suggestions on accommodations? Warmly, Anne
Not attending. You might try to find an air bnb cabin that is 30min- 1 hour plus drive from the city.
If you like camping, there are some great sites for that all over the state. But the nights, and possibly days will be pretty cold.
Looking for lodging in a big city that is not terribly far away like Milwaukee, Wisconsin Dells, or even Chicago might be a option, if you are open to the communte, and are willing to deal with the possiblity of traffic being bad.
Heard good things about:
Great Wolf Lodge | Wisconsin Dells
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions - Wisconsin Dells
Also might want to check the casinos in the state.
Been a while since I was there but as I recall, The Dells is like an adult amusement/vacation area and there is a reservation nearby with a casino that may have motels/hotels. Milwaukee is really too far for a commute, IMHO.
Thanks for responding. Since it is not coming together easily, I will take that as a sign to pass on this event. October is a pretty busy month for me anyway.
Cheers!
Anne
