I’m a retired ‘neuromorphic engineer’ and Associate of the UC San Diego Institute for Neural Computation and former staff at UCSD Integrated Sysems Neuroengineering Lab (inc.ucsd.edu and isn.ucsd.edu). I have done philosophical and literature research and writing and speaking on the place of consciousness in nature. I have helped build some state of the art brain emulation accelerator systems. I have also participated in apnea detection related medical research. Due to my own sleep apnea and age, I also try to keep up on ways to enhance slow wave sleep. I tend to be a black hole for information that does not radiate enough yet.
