I am seeking a practicioner based off Andrew’s recommendation to do a diety yoga / phowa empowerment. My goal with the empowerment is to be able to start working in “dream” realms (don’t like using this term without stating I also believe the waking state to be a dream).
My goal is to remote view some of my deceased family members (my mother’s mom/dad) and aid in transferrance of their consciousness to a pure land or heavenly place.
I have some experience with remote viewing and believe in these kind of practices after meeting my panicked grandfather in a chaotic realm who sadly died of suicide.
It looks like I missed my opportunity to meet Ling Rinpoche (when he was at Menla). But I’m positive when the time is right the correct situation will present itself.
@_Barry do you know how I would go about seeking this kind of empowerment through the proper channels?
Diety yoga / phowa empowerment? I usually see these advertised in various Dharma places online or on Facebook. Also, what are your proper channels? I follow Choki Nyma Rinpoiche and Phakchok Rinpoche, so I am privy to their schedules, as well as my wife’s “lotus grapevine”.
The only thing I was hoping for is a teacher that would be experienced in dream yoga / diety yoga / phowa. Andrew said while there are many ways to practice phowa, diety yoga is the best.
He said it can be trained without empowerment, but it would be much more impactful if one was given prior to engaging in working with phowa in dream yoga.
Empowerment is new to me, just learned about it when Andrew mentioned it. Since then, I did some research and tried to find a local temple / monastery that I could discuss my intentions with and hopefully get their blessing to practice, but I was unable to find one.
I live in Bethlehem, PA and would be willing to travel a couple hours.
I think that there are always gems that are hidden till we look for them. I lived near all sorts of enlightened beings (Nepal) that I never met. Resided in a country full of Pure Land temples and Siddis, but passed on all of them. Had the chance to visit with some mighty high Rinpoches here in the US, but begged them all off. Many more goose eggs! I only came in contact with people meeting your criteria when I started taking Andrew’s courses in 2018 and then went online to a Tibetan Buddhist center about 200 miles away, where teachers eventually came, giving on-site retreats and the opportunity to do the things you write about. Nothing happened till I took the initiative to find the first brick . . . .
Yeah, after struggling to find anything I just stopped and let things unfold naturally. I always follow synchronicities so when I hear you got an empowerment it filled my heart . The synchronicity I was unknowingly waiting for .
I will check out the place you shared, I trust your judgement on these kind of things & Love!
"The fourth Lunar month of the Tibetan calendar, known as Saga Dawa, is one of the most important and holiest months for Buddhists. It is celebrated to honor the life and teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha. This month is regarded as a great time to earn merits and engage in religious activities.
This year it begins on the 9th of May and ends on the 6th of June."
