Sleep Disorders: A Wake-Up Call

Here is a brief summary of the role of sleep in psychiatric disorders. Sleep is literally a life-saver, and in many cases, a mind-saver. The jury is in: you DON’T snooze, you lose. I attended a sleep seminar online with Dr. Nida this weekend, a Tibetan medical doctor and expert in dream yoga. He claims that we need at least NINE hours of sleep a night. As a general rule: if you are woken up by an alarm, you are probably sleep deprived.
