My favorite passage from the Tao Te Ching kinda gets at that. Chapter 25

“Before the world was
And the sky was filled with starts…
There was
a strange, unfathomable Body.
This Being, this Body is silent
and beyond all substance and sensing.
It stretches beyond everything
spanning the empyrean.
It has always been here, and it always will be.
Everything comes from it, and then
it is the mother of everything.
I do not know its name. So I call it TAO”

It goes on more but thats my favorite part.

Just beautiful, thanks for sharing.

One of the best books ever written on emptiness, by a master who walks the talk.

Started to! Agreed on amazing work.

It’s more of a workbook, honestly.

I love where he says on p.25 “To keep returning to the investigatory stage after confidence has arisen is like continuing to switch a light on and off without any purpose. Once the light is on, leave it on.”

Human tendency to keep with what’s comfortable  I’m guilty of finally ‘getting’ a practice and then getting uptight that I have to move on to another. JUST as I was getting it! :sob: But I think that’s the point.

(and then I got sick, so no further than chapter 1. :frowning: )
