My daughter is a Swiftie, born the same year and some of the good guys and gals here at NC are also fans. So I heard her backtrack to one of my favorite episodes of one of my favorite shows, “The Bear” and it was really good.

_Barry Here’s the original version of Tambourine Man by Bob Dylan. Seems pretty clear to me that it’s about a psychedelic trip. “Acid Folk”?

Scotland’s Donovan had a few big hits in the 60’s (Sunshine Superman, Mellow Yellow, Atlantis), hung out with the Beatles at the Maharishi’s place in India, and then seemed to disappear from the scene.
But he came out with a brilliant album in the 90’s called “Sutras.” Here are a few of my favorites from that album:

“The Way” - from a section of the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu.

Nirvana

The Evernow

Universe Am I

I am the Shaman. Donovan is now in his early 80’s and just released this new song and video with David Lynch producing it. David asked him to bring an unfinished song into the studio and finish and record it on the spot!

Always liked the Byrds version a bit better as their harmony and music adds another dimension to “the trip.”

Saw Donovan (Catch the Wind, Colours) in concert in the early 70s, when Atlantis was current. Thanks for posting his later work. His daughter was the lead actress in the movie “Say Anything.”

_Barry Yeah I love their harmonies. They popularized a lot of Dylan material and I like the Dylan originals as well so wanna give the man his due, now that he’s a Nobel prize winning poet.

Yeah, back in the day it was The Beatles, Dylan and The Stones, all else was . . .

Thanks to you, I went searching for info. about this Ram Dass and found out pretty amazing stuff:
"He creates heart opening and emotionally restorative music. He’s in a forefront movement of musicians who aim to bring healing and solace to the world.
In 2021, he created several musical projects born from his own deeply personal human experience of joy and sorrow.
Collaborating with the duo Awaré, he recorded And Now He Has Wings, a musical journey through his process of healing after the death of his newborn son.

He’s dedicated to render the beauty of life’s triumphs, tragedies ,and beyond. He tours extensively with Snatam Kaur."

He’s in several of my playlists… LOVE his creative approach to spirituality and human being

So many Das’s, so little time.

“Das” or “Dass” by the way means “servant of”, i.e. Servant of Ram, Servant of Krishna.
