when I connect with the Beatles I remember that Paul McCartney received “Yesterday”'s melody in a dream  (learned this with Andrew)

With what I mentioned about Paul McCartney the other night I had a very simple realization this morning while meditating which I’m suprised I didnt think of earlier. It allowed me to make sense of the song in which he said Mother Mary comes to him in times of trouble.

The darker the shadow, the brighter the light shines. A reason why shadow and golden shadow work isnso important IMO.

and if you notice the video
I think it’s really BOLD for a young man to sing with such beauty and purity for millions of people
 it’s simply AMAZING
and indeed in resonance with Mother Mary’s energy.

@_mbready. I had never heard any story about Lennon selling his soul to the devil so I googled it. There is a book out that is making this allegation. Apparently it’s based on some quip that Lennon supposedly made to a friend in 1960, right before the Beatles started to draw crowds in England. I don’t take this too seriously. Lennon was a jokester who liked to make off the wall comments. There were also legends of early blues musicians, such as Robert Johnson, who allegedly went from untalented to very talented and famous after selling his soul to the devil at a crossroads at midnight, then died tragically and mysteriously at age 27. Many of the 60’s British rock musicians were very influenced by American blues musicians and so that story may have been floating around. This video reviews the story of Johnson selling his soul the the devil:

This theme is picked up in the film “O Brother Where Art Thou” when our protagonists pick up a hitch-hiking blues musician named “Tommy Johnson” at a crossroads, where he tells us he has just sold his soul to the devil at midnight in order to become a famous musician:

Here is Eric Clapton and Cream doing Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads Blues”:

My thoughts exactly, its tough to decipher tone without a recording of him saying that. I think he said it as sarcasm or jokingly, or half serious (implying more money & fame = more problems).

This was a really sad and tragic death:

" On the evening of 8 December 1980, English musician John Lennon, formerly of the Beatles, was shot and fatally wounded in the archway of the Dakota, his residence in New York City. The killer, Mark David Chapman, was an American Beatles fan who was jealous and enraged by Lennon’s lifestyle, alongside his 1966 comment that the Beatles were “more popular than Jesus”. Chapman said he was inspired by the fictional character Holden Caulfield from J. D. Salinger’s novel The Catcher in the Rye, a “phony-killer” who loathes hypocrisy.

Chapman planned the killing over several months and waited for Lennon at the Dakota on the morning of 8 December. Early in the evening, Chapman met Lennon, who signed his copy of the album Double Fantasy and subsequently left for a recording session at the Record Plant. Later that night, Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, returned to the Dakota. As Lennon and Ono approached the entrance of the building, Chapman fired five hollow-point bullets from a .38 special revolver, four of which hit Lennon in the back. Lennon was rushed to Roosevelt Hospital in a police car, where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 11:15 p.m. at age 40. Chapman remained at the scene reading The Catcher in the Rye until he was arrested by the police. It was later discovered that Chapman considered Lennon’s friend David Bowie a target.[3]"

I think I read in Time magazine (holloween issue), that the Dakota hotel is haunted.

@fenwizard / @NightHawk999 did you watch this?

@_mbready. I just watched it but didn’t find it too convincing. If anyone was inflicted with negative spirits, I think it was Chapman, the guy who shot him. Perhaps he was projecting his own darkness onto Lennon? Jung would call this “Shadow projection.”
But from a shamanic perspective, perhaps it’s more than that. Perhaps Chapman was the one influenced by negative entities? I have been in shamanic ceremonies where negative entities are removed from people. I believe that there are some Tibetan Buddhist practitioners who specialize in this.

Lately I’ve been hearing this song while I drive my car, cook, draw and doing things in a more meditative / alpha state

I love Jai Uttal!
I hadn’t heard this piece before so thank you!
He hasn’t done that much instrumental music in more recent years that I’m aware of, except his very first album had quite a bit of instrumental stuff on it. I remember discovering it in a record store in Portland in the 90’s and being blown away by it, buying it and listening to it repeatedly. This is the album:

It also features jazz trumpeter Don Cherry and Indian vocalist Lakshmi Shankar.

Tim Maia – Que Beleza (Official Audio)

It’s in Portuguese but I translated it

"oh such a beauty it is to feel nature
to be sure about where you’re going and where you come from

such a beauty is nature
and without fear to distribute the good and evil

uh uh uh such beauty
uh uh uh such beauty

such beauty in knowing your name
your origins, your past and your future.

such beauty in knowing disenchantment
and seeing everything much clearer in the dark

uh uh uh such beauty
uh uh uh such beauty

open the door and enter
happiness is gonna shine in the world

such beauty
such beauty
such beauty
such beauty"

this one is also in Brazilian Portuguese but the groove is lovely and the lyrics are epic. When I discovered it, I was also listening to it over and over!

The lyrics in English:

Who, at one time, didn’t think about leaving everything and going away?
Who, one day, didn’t want to give up and leave
Who, someday, hasn’t looked at the sky and felt a force
That renews us and makes our hearts feel good, good

There is a light that comes to tell me: Everything will be fine
And the enemies I can’t see will no longer have strength
And the good things I imagine will come alive
And positive thoughts will be my strength

Let love be reborn in your head and you will see what God is
Let love be reborn in your head and you will see

Use the power of your mind
You’re expanding, thinking unlimited
The energy present in the universe is available to the self-integrated
You have the innate ability to win
Create your reality and what you want to live
Get out of the system box that makes you perish
That controls your life and limits your power
Raise your vibration to the point of transcendence
The survival mode of this 3D illusion
The strength that carries the simple act of believing
And act with love and consistency and see it manifest

Music from the Santo Daime Church of Brazil. The Santo Daime religion started in the 1920’s when an Afro-Brazillian rubber tapping working in the Amazon jungle was invited to an ayahuasca ceremony by the local tribe. He received visions of the Virgin Mary dressed all in green and was told she was “Our Lady of the Forest.” He was given instructions for starting the Santo Daime religion that uses “Daime” (specially blessed ayahuasca) as their sacrament, given songs and dances and ceremonies and a new religion was born. It is a mix of Catholicism, Native amazonian shamanism and African spirituality. This is one of their songs.
