One of my all time favorite movies.
Did not know about the history behind it, or how much was based on real events
Loved the song!
“How do we sell the Stars…???”

Really cool Mountain Artwork, no?
" Crazy Horse (Lakota: Tȟašúŋke Witkó [2] [tˣaˈʃʊ̃kɛ witˈkɔ], lit. ‘His-Horse-Is-Wild’; c. 1840 – September 5, 1877)[3] was a Lakota war leader of the Oglala band in the 19th century. He took up arms against the United States federal government to fight against encroachment by White American settlers on Native American territory and to preserve the traditional way of life of the Lakota people. His participation in several famous battles of the Black Hills War on the northern Great Plains, among them the Fetterman Fight in 1866, in which he acted as a decoy, and the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876, in which he led a war party to victory, earned him great respect from both his enemies and his own people.
In September 1877, four months after surrendering to U.S. troops under General George Crook, Crazy Horse was fatally wounded by a bayonet-wielding military guard while allegedly[4][5] resisting imprisonment at Camp Robinson in northwestern Nebraska. He was honored by the U.S. Postal Service in 1982 with a 13¢ Great Americans series postage stamp."

@NightHawk999 Regarding the Blackfeet re-establishing the Buffalo herds. Yes! Great thing that’s happening there.
My wife and I drove through the Blackfeet Rez 2 summers ago, although we didn’t see the Buffalo. We were able to hike in the Sweetgrass hills which was a sacred vision questing area for the Blackfeet. My wife’s Mom grew up in North Central Montana and she still has relatives out there that we were visiting. My wife remembers going to a Pow Wow on the Blackfeet Rez as a toddler and dancing with the Indians. Seems like connecting with American Indian ways has been part of her dreaming path from an early age!
AMEN Brother! Really Amazing!
I was shocked to learn herd populations are now at close to half a million in the world, had to fact checkmate it:
" There are roughly 500,000 bison in the United States, with some in conservation herds and others in commercial herds.
Explanation
- Conservation herds: Approximately 20,500 bison are in conservation herds.
- Commercial herds: Approximately 420,000 bison are in commercial herds.
Conservation status
-
The American bison is no longer threatened with extinction, but it is considered near threatened.
-
The species faces other challenges, including loss of genetic diversity and loss of natural selection forces.
-
The bison depends heavily on conservation efforts for survival."
Its my understanding that some of the commercial Bison, (the meat you can buy in some grocery stores) are not true genetic bison, but a mix of Bison and cow DNA.
Really fucked up in my opinion. keeping the DNA pure should be paramount.
Her and I may have more in common than you may think
My earliest memory of interacting with the NAs was doing this! I was very young, around kindergarten age.
