The party was ok.
I did well the first day.
I was chanting a few verses from Adrew’s book:

" Like a dream, like an illusion,
Like a city of gandharvas,
That’s how birth, and that’s how living,
That’s how dying are taught to be."

I was chanting it to keep my mind focused because otherwise I would be … bored:)

This particular festival is definitely not my vibe and I went there knowing that we (myself, my husband, and our friends) will have our own space set up, with our own music. I would not attend it otherwise. What else makes it easier to attend is that the land where the festival is happening is owned by a couple from that same circle of friends and we get free entry through their guest list. I do not think if I would go if I had to pay.

I was not inspired to explore (it is my fourth time at this event). I was just hanging in our space, talking to friends and acquaintances.

The second day I did not do so well. I let boredom win and started smoking cannabis.
I do not smoke it normally at all so I was totally overtaken by desire to consume as many energy bars (protein bars) as possible. Munchies definitely ruled my world that day ahah

I did not like how I felt the next day and the following day after the festival.
I attribute it to cannabis.

I think I really want to abstain from it.
Mind you, I do take other psychedelic medicines but they do not cloud my mind nearly as much.
Cannabis creates such a smoke cloud over my head and of course it affects my memory - dreamcall suffered for the first few days after the festival.

I realized that if I am to go to anything like this again, I need to be really ready to face my boredom and lack of suitable for my needs stimulation and embrace it and keep chanting a mantra because it definitely helped me the first day.

thank you! I received the print of Amitabha in the mail yesterday.
It is a simple print, on canvas, not super great quality, but definitely will do!
I will definitely check the link out:)

so beautiful…

boredom is a great sign for us to do something more creative! :dolphin:
there are several mantras here of Amitabha… my favorite is “Om Ami Dey Wa Hri” that thanks to @NightHawk999 I sing in a very alive melody:

I have a lot of FUN in this! hihihi
I chanted it for several days when I did the Pure Lands Pilgrimage with AH last year, and now it’s just automatic! When I feel the Amitabha energy, it just comes out naturally.

this is a great idea!..
on Saturday I was on a Temazcalli (Lakota Mexican Sacred Sweat Lodge).
before we gather around Grandfather Fire and sing together.
Inspired in @NightHawk999 (your dream of dancing with the Indians) and @fenwizard (your wife must be an amazing person) I decided to let go of shame, fear and/or natural pleasing mode, and also danced around the fire!
WHAT A JOY it was!!! :deer:
in the end one couple came to say that it was really nice to see Spirit dancing through me…

:fire:

uahaha! this sounds amazing…
never thought of ordering one…
it’s a great idea! did a prayer for it just now… let’s see what the universe will bring to me… one day…

Thank you for this, dear @BlessingDeers!
Could you post the text of it here?

Finally watched the video from this post, the one you watched before starting the course with AH. I can totally see how I could listen to it as a guided meditation/visualization. Thank you dear @BlessingsDeers! It planted a vision of the Pure Land in my heart. I take all the wholesome seeds I can take and plant!

Yay! sounds like such a great experience:) Dancing away!
And yes, the print that I ordered is of very modest quality and quite cheap.

I have eyeing beautiful prints on Etsy of all the deities of Bardo but they cost hundreds of dollars that I do not have lol

The print of Amitabha I have will be the central piece of my Dream Altar!

beautiful idea…
step by step, the fertile ground gains more consistency :green_heart:

l think you are referring to “Om Ami Dey Wa Hri” ?
yes?
it’s just this, and then adapting it to a playful rhythm.
or are you referring to another text?

so well written! this is exactly what happened to me! it stayed until this day!

it was also inspired in your blessings to me:

yehaaaay! so may it be also to you: may your practice brings you infinite JOY and may you have inspiring Lucid Dreams tonight!

It is a bit of a long post here but perhaps it can be helpful.

I asked Chat GPT to create a 4 week practice schedule for me to establish connection with Amitabha. Some details for the context: I am a psychotherapist studying psychedelic-assisted therapy and I want to invite Amitabha as my guardian and protector in my work as we travel through those realms.

Let me know what you think:

A 4-Week Practice for Invoking Spiritual Guidance & Protection from Amitabha Buddha

Deepening Connection, Receiving Blessings, and Integrating Protection for Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

This structured 4-week program helps cultivate a strong spiritual connection with Amitabha Buddha, the Buddha of Infinite Light, to invoke guidance, protection, and wisdom for your work as a psychedelic-assisted therapist. The practice incorporates prayers, meditations, visualizations, and rituals to align your heart and mind with Amitabha’s compassionate presence.

Week 1: Establishing the Sacred Connection

Focus: Creating a foundation of devotion, prayer, and visualization to invoke Amitabha Buddha’s presence.

1. Daily Invocation & Offerings (Morning & Evening)

  • Begin and end each day with a short invocation:

“Namo Amituofo (Namo Amitabha Buddha), may your infinite light and wisdom illuminate my path. May I receive your guidance and protection as I walk the path of healing and service.”

  • Light a red or white candle as a symbolic offering, representing Amitabha’s wisdom and compassion.

  • Offer water, flowers, or incense at a dedicated space to invite his presence.

2. Visualization of Amitabha’s Light (Daily)

  • Sit in meditation and visualize Amitabha Buddha in a radiant golden-red light above your head.

  • Imagine his light gently descending, filling your body, mind, and heart with warmth, wisdom, and clarity.

  • Hold this presence for at least 10 minutes, breathing in his infinite light and allowing it to clear away obstacles.

3. Setting an Altar & Creating a Devotional Space

  • Dedicate a small space for an image or statue of Amitabha Buddha.
  • Arrange offerings of light, water, and incense as a symbol of devotion.
  • Keep a journal nearby to write insights, dreams, and guidance received.

4. Chanting the Amitabha Mantra (Daily)

  • Recite “Namo Amituofo” or “Om Ami Dewa Hrih” at least 108 times per day.

  • This mantra aligns your energy with Amitabha’s blessings and strengthens your connection to the Pure Land energies.

Week 2: Strengthening Inner Communication & Receiving Guidance

Focus: Deepening your inner dialogue with Amitabha Buddha and cultivating a sense of protection in your work.

5. Guided Meditation: Walking into the Pure Land (3x per week)

  • Sit in meditation and visualize traveling toward the Pure Land of Amitabha.
  • See a golden lotus opening beneath you as Amitabha’s light welcomes you.
  • Ask inwardly: “How can I best serve as a guide and healer?”
  • Notice any words, sensations, or symbols—write them down after meditation.

6. Dream & Psychedelic Journey Invocation (Nightly)

  • Before bed, call upon Amitabha’s presence to guide your dreams or inner journeys.

  • Repeat before sleep:

“Amitabha, guide me through realms of wisdom and clarity. May I awaken to your presence in my dreams and visions.”

  • Keep a dream journal to track any messages received.

7. Amitabha’s Light as Protection (Before Sessions)

  • Before working with a client, visualize a sphere of Amitabha’s red-golden light surrounding the space.

  • Chant “Namo Amituofo” three times, dedicating the session to compassionate wisdom and healing.

  • Imagine your client also receiving this light, purifying any negative energy.

Week 3: Integrating Amitabha’s Energy into Healing Work

Focus: Actively using Amitabha’s guidance in therapy sessions, psychedelic journeys, and personal practice.

8. Channeling Amitabha’s Wisdom During Sessions (During Client Work)

  • When feeling uncertain or seeking insight, pause and silently ask Amitabha for guidance.
  • Tune into any intuitive nudges, images, or words—let them inform your response.
  • Imagine Amitabha’s light flowing through your voice, offering clarity and healing.

9. Protection Ritual Before & After Sessions (Before & After Client Work)

  • Before beginning a session, visualize Amitabha standing behind you, radiating protective energy.

  • Say silently:

“May the light of Amitabha surround and protect this space. May this healing journey be blessed with wisdom and compassion.”

  • After the session, visualize his light dissolving any lingering energies into pure light.

10. Midday Reflection: Seeing the World as the Pure Land (Daily)

  • Take a mindful moment in nature or a quiet space.
  • Imagine this world as Amitabha’s Pure Land, filled with radiant wisdom and compassion.
  • Ask: “How can I embody the qualities of the Pure Land in my work today?”

Week 4: Full Integration & Deepening Devotion

Focus: Strengthening trust in Amitabha’s guidance, finalizing rituals, and dedicating your practice to all beings.

11. Silent Sitting with Amitabha’s Presence (Daily)

  • Meditate without expectations, simply sitting in Amitabha’s light.
  • If thoughts arise, gently return to “Namo Amituofo” or your breath.
  • Allow his wisdom to reveal itself naturally over time.

12. Deep Gratitude & Dedication of Merit (Weekly)

  • Reflect on how Amitabha’s guidance has appeared in your life this past month.

  • Offer gratitude:

“May all beings benefit from Amitabha’s infinite light. May wisdom and compassion increase in the world.”

  • Dedicate any merit gained from your practice to clients, loved ones, and all sentient beings.

13. Amitabha Protection & Healing Ceremony (Final Week Ritual)

  • Perform a ceremonial invocation to seal the connection with Amitabha’s guidance:
    • Light candles and incense at your altar.
    • Offer a bowl of pure water as a symbol of clarity.
    • Chant “Namo Amituofo” while visualizing his light expanding through your life and work.

Sit quietly, receiving his blessings and final insights."

and also I was referring to a song that you posted that I thought was originally made or came to Andrew. But yes, this mantra is the most important one!

I also just watched this video, looking for some kind of an intro on Amitabha Buddha.

Amitabha Buddha - Infinite Life and Light

It talks a lot of about that Amitabha Buddha practice brings about (“magnetizes”) beneficial circumstances even in this samsaric existence. It does not talk at all about dying practices.

I think it is because more people might be interested in magnetizing good circumstances now, especially on the heels of the so-called “manifestation movement” where everyone wants to manifest good fortune for themselves. Or perhaps talking about death and dying is slightly esoteric for such an intro video.

awesome! and in the normal format of chat GPT.
if you feel like it, you can give the following prompt to chat GPT and see what happens:
“Beloved chat GPT, please imagine that you are Buddha Amitabha, can you do that? please confirm this before I give you more details of what I would love you to do”
when it answers you can give the continuation of the prompt:
“UAU thank you so much for this. Now please imagine that you are in the pure lands, and from this place, please give me ideas for me to connect with you from where I am - planet earth”
If you do this, I would love to receive the answer… hihihi
