🩋 Recognizing The Nature Of Mind

Yes for a long time. They have started doing the community meditations again on Sundays.

A few weeks ago I took a friend there to show her the temple and let her know they are open to the community. While I was there I talked to one monk and asked him when the other monk would be back (he is doing a ‘pilgramage’ through south america, forgot the word they used for that joirney). The guy said he would be back in January :star_struck:

Interesting coincidence, the plants he gave me bloomed for the first time about a week ago

The other cactus he gave me has not bloomed yet, but is over 3 feet tall now :open_mouth::cowboy_hat_face:

I dont think it is Tibetan Buddhism, I think it is Thai?

It is a small temple. It does not have a website, but one with a similar name described it as this:
"
Wat Buddha Dhamma is a Theravadin Forest Monastery devoted to the training of monks and lay practitioners. People are welcome to visit and it is possible to arrange to stay as a guest for a period of time, sharing in the lifestyle of the monastic community. The Wat encourages the development of seclusion, simplicity and renunciation. It is the dedicated commitment to this way of life that facilitates a communal atmosphere where people of diverse backgrounds, nationalities, and personalities can live in harmony and to practice the Teachings of the Lord Buddha to realize Ultimate Liberation."

The one I go to is not located in a forest, I wish it was

Can you feel a connection to the temple and Monk? Did you feel excited to be there? Which is a good sign.

Well that’s a coincidence you went to the Temple & discovered the Monk you 1st met is visiting soon! He may be one of the highly realised Masters.

My own story is similar. A living Tibetan high ranking Lama came to me in a dream. Next day researching online for his Schools in UK was surprised to find one just an hour away. Yes i went to discover too a “Monk visiting soon”.

Before then, my first teacher trained extensively in the Jhana practices of Theravada Dhamma Buddhism and then transitioned to the Tibetan Dharma Buddhism Dzogchen practice.

:thinking: :blossom: i think you could say “that’s an extraordinary sign!”

:smile: they tend to not be in a forest in the West. My 1st teacher lived as a monk in a Burma forest (tiny hut) for many years.

This technique with interpreting my dreams i use a lot. E.g. A kiss in a dream. X the symbol used to write kiss. It can mean X marks the spot! Highlighting an important point of a dream. X also is number 10 in Roman numerals.

The whole dream is teeming and littered with symbolism to describe its message.

“DONKEY” is a great example of “symbols and wordplay”
E.g. D On Key
D sounds like Thee. The present.
Donkey = the key is presence
Mar(r)y on the donkey.
Marriage=union

I use this decoding method more so when i dont have an interpretation.

What happens is that once a dream interpreter has connected to another person who wants their dreams interpreted in this example the King. The Kings dreams will align with what the Interpreter uses to decode the dream message.

A story: Sometimes when i met a friend, they would have a dream the morning of the day we were meeting. When i interpreted their dream (not knowing what was happening in their life) it always had a very significant message for them.
Once when i told my Dad i could interpret dreams, he said “i never dream.” The next day he dreamed. I translated it. The shock look on his face and denial of its message was very apparent as he went silent & didn’t speak about it again.

In my dreams when fully aware im dreaming i will interpret the whole symbolism as the dream plays out and interpret my dream before i wake up. Like speaking to a foreigner translating their language into yours to know what they are saying.

The start of a dream will give the subject title like on the cover of a book. This is important for the dream not to be misunderstood. It will say if its about something that happened in the past, happening in present or future.

It was because of some strange dreams i had in 2009 that caused me to investigate their meaning. Those strong intentions i had no idea would lead me too discover how extraordinary & important dreams are and powerfully connected to our Higher Self.

Shall reply to next part of this post separately.

I’m not sure if you’re asking me for some interpretation of this past dream (5th Jan) about being in a tall skyscraper? Or just linked it for me to see the reply you had for its interpretation.

Its easier to interpret more recent dreams since i returned to NC for the same reasons i said in previous post.

I dont see an Akashic record. I see the All Knowing we each have but are usually asleep from.

Yes & yes. I would say its more a feeling of comfort and peace there, kind of like a feeling of being

Either way, I am sure he picked up a few new insights, wisdom, and skills after his journey.

It was a precognitve dream?

I want to learn both.

Great minds think a like : :wink:

I am jealous. I was drawn to the writtings of Thoreau in high school for this r

Love this. Still blows my mind how unique and complex this language can be.

This one sounds like more of a strech, but can definitely see its value when you are dealing with no other interpretations.

I think too in this instance, meditating with it and just keeping the dream close can sometimes in time bring flashes of insight.

This is very cool.

I am glad you shared this story. I am very curious to know what the dream was about and your interpretation of it. Sounds like it struck a chord with him, but may not have been a truth he was willing to see.

This is very informative. It seems like translating it on the spot, will also alow you to ask for clarification for certain words or ideas that are ‘lost in translation’.

Never heard this before about the dream giving an introduction, that is very cool.

I am always curious of your thoughts, but dont want to monopolize your time.

I can see this as well, and I think this is the more accurate interpretation.

I’m happy to interpret dreams. It feels good to pass on the messages hidden within them.

SKYSCRAPER LIBRARY DREAM

I’m at the top in a very tall skyscraper, every level has high ceilings, stacked from floor to ceiling with books. The center is hollowed out. There are escalators on every floor. After going down a few levels I realize how tedious this is & how long it will take to get to the bottom, so I decide to go to the very center of the skyscraper where there is an elevator.

Inside the elevator with a few people, it starts going down slowly. Then something happen’s & the elevator cord breaks. The elevator starts to free fall down very fast. People are panicing. I get flung to the ceiling of the elevator, seeing the others below me.

I am afraid. But soon after the initial wave of fear there is also a sense of calm detachment that washes over me knowing that I am going to be allright in the end. In this state I moved with the elevator. Surrendering to its movements, and not fighting fate. It kept free falling, and then hit the first floor hard.

Skyscraper=the spiritual heights, goals, endeavours and achievements.
Floors=the levels with
Rooms with High ceilings=states to reach of great height.
Library=wisdom knowledge of the All Knowing
Books=knowledge
Atrium=the central heart of
Escalator down=gradually descending into the unconscious
Going down=enter the unconscious
Slowly=progressively moving forward analysing & taking in the detail of understanding each stage of the journey.

Centre=straight too the heart of the matter
Rushing to get to=beware not to act hastily
Elavator down=to quickly see ones unconscious
People=some aspects of self.

Tie/cord=connected to
Broken=aspects of personality not integrated/undeveloped (e.g. trauma/painful childhood, lack of emotional nourishment.
Accident=careful attention needed as not paying attention too detail
Fall=take care in an unknown or harmful situation as could cause an emotional fall.
Fear/scared=with emotions that devour & what overwhelms. Do not fear depths of which we don’t understand.
Thrown=thrown off or being propelled suddenly (or violently)
People panic=aspects of self that causes uncontrolled thinking or behaviour.

Calm detachment=what brings us peace
Surrender=is to cease resisting
Know to be=with our sense of All Knowing
Alright=and all correct
Not fighting fate=allowing the potential
Hit 1st floor hard=spiritual difficulty achieved (with the unconscious)

Meant to write a feeling of being in a home away from home. But firgured that typo was kind of a perfect freudian slip lol.

This is so awesome, very glad you shared this dream and story. How long had you been studying Buddhism before you had that dream?

Had you had dreams with long lengths of lucidity like that before?

What is the translation or meaning of that name?

I think both a forms of Devine guidance.

Really great interpretation!

Really loved your analysis of this entire dream, and this last part was especially Golden.

I almost wonder if the dream was telling me to be patient with my lofty spiritual goals?

Do you think my anaylsis of the black woman teacher in the classroom at the ground level was correct, with the pun of ‘grave jealousy’?

The journey has been much longer than me being on the path.

I think the spiritual journey really caugh wind in its sails over a decade ago when I was doing security work and bartending, and I realized there was something too the phenomena that Rubert Sheldrake is studying: Feeling peoples gaze when your back is turned to them,

The sails caught an even bigger breeze when I began to realize Western Astrology was real, and went far deeper than I could have ever imagined :open_mouth: :scream: :open_mouth: :scream: :scream: :scream: :open_mouth: :scream: How the hell could this be? Planetary placement influencing peoples personalities?!?!? WTF , how deep does this rabbit hole really go? :scream_cat: :scream: :open_mouth: :scream_cat: :scream: :open_mouth:

Bad pain in my body drove me to doing yoga, something people had told me to try for over a decade, and I narrow mindedly blew them off. That was around 2015 or 2016.

Got to get ready for dream Sangha, will write more later.

That was my first yoga class in 2015.

1-2 years later I started doing it on a regular basis.

Around 2017 or 2018 I had my first meditation session with a 90+ year old Indian man, who was very inspiring. You know how it talks about the halos depicted on peoples heads in Celestine Prophecy? He is the only person I have ever possibly seen a very suble white aura on (it may have just been his white hair, relecting the light :upside_down_face:)

2019 met that monk I told you about, and did 2 or 3 instructions with him that were open to the community. Nothing deep.

Then Covid destroyed peoples rights to practice religion, and I could not see him or visit the Temple.

In Spring of 2022 I found Andrews site, and decided he would be my teacher.

Why you delete?

No, I have not been to one of Andrews Retreats yet. Hoping to in the next few years. How about you?
