Andrew should post a big Warning sign on his site:

Warning this Material will Blow your Mind!
:exploding_head:

Sometimes the only way to find your mind, is to ‘lose’ it:

I wont be posting any Eminem songs here (and I hope others wont as well lol).

But this “Bones” song highlights a really powerful phenomena in seemingly Samsaric music, that you can have multiple meanings and interpretations of the verses, often on a samsaric level and then another interpretation on a deeper Spiritual level.

The other reason I posted it was because I was grabbing dinner at a Dinner the other night, and I walked to the bathroom to wash my hands, and this song came on the radio, right before I was about to wash hands and look in the mirror. May not seem like a big deal, but this restaurant in the past had only played country music, or family friendly hits from decades ago. This song was a huge statistical anomaly!

Here is the version that played in the Diner:

Sudanese Sufi music. You can hear where the blues comes from.

HuDost is an American Sufi band. They’re amazing and I have been lucky enough to see them a few times. Their album “Sufi Kirtan” is highly recommended!

For real. Relative truth is often a reflection of absolute truth.

Here’s another one of those: I like how accidentally spiritual this song is.

“We all got a chicken-duck-woman-thing waiting for us” - we’re all subject to death and there is no escaping it

“Something’s waiting in the bushes of love” - by being born we automatically become subject to death, death is an inevitable consequence of life

“I pray that I don’t find what I don’t wanna find [crispy bodies by the door]” - we spend so much energy avoiding our own mortality

“now it might be waiting for you
could be hiding behind that scrap pile” - death can come at any moment

“I know you want someone to hold you, but we all got a chicken-duck-woman thing waiting for us” - nothing we or others can do can prevent us from eventually dying

This is awesome :star_struck: . Never knew Jars of Clay worked with people outside their tradition. My respect for them has gone up.

Like the shots in the music video where the guy is playing air guitar, like that’s the whole reason he’s there

So true. And the older I get, the more I’m aware that death could be around any corner and each moment of life is precious, so be fully present for it.

On a lighter note, I just saw the bad lip reading version of Yoda. I 'm posting it in the humor topic thread.

Great song with some powerful lines:

“I got no time/ to worship humankind/
I only worship the Almighty”

“I give love to those who gimme love/
Love those who gimme war/
I love those who hate me/
I bless even those who curse me”

“Give love to those who give you love/
Love to those who hate you/
Bless even those who curse you”
