Andrew should post a big Warning sign on his site:
Warning this Material will Blow your Mind!
Sometimes the only way to find your mind, is to âloseâ it:
I wont be posting any Eminem songs here (and I hope others wont as well lol).
But this âBonesâ song highlights a really powerful phenomena in seemingly Samsaric music, that you can have multiple meanings and interpretations of the verses, often on a samsaric level and then another interpretation on a deeper Spiritual level.
The other reason I posted it was because I was grabbing dinner at a Dinner the other night, and I walked to the bathroom to wash my hands, and this song came on the radio, right before I was about to wash hands and look in the mirror. May not seem like a big deal, but this restaurant in the past had only played country music, or family friendly hits from decades ago. This song was a huge statistical anomaly!
HuDost is an American Sufi band. Theyâre amazing and I have been lucky enough to see them a few times. Their album âSufi Kirtanâ is highly recommended!
La Illaha Il Allah
Bismallah
A live performance.
Sufis be jamminâ with a radical Christian band, Jars of Clay.
For real. Relative truth is often a reflection of absolute truth.
Hereâs another one of those: I like how accidentally spiritual this song is.
âWe all got a chicken-duck-woman-thing waiting for usâ - weâre all subject to death and there is no escaping it
âSomethingâs waiting in the bushes of loveâ - by being born we automatically become subject to death, death is an inevitable consequence of life
âI pray that I donât find what I donât wanna find [crispy bodies by the door]â - we spend so much energy avoiding our own mortality
ânow it might be waiting for you⊠could be hiding behind that scrap pileâ - death can come at any moment
âI know you want someone to hold you, but we all got a chicken-duck-woman thing waiting for usâ - nothing we or others can do can prevent us from eventually dying
@_Bucket
So true. And the older I get, the more Iâm aware that death could be around any corner and each moment of life is precious, so be fully present for it.
On a lighter note, I just saw the bad lip reading version of Yoda. I 'm posting it in the humor topic thread.
Ajeet with Trevor Hall. âAkalâ means âTimelessnessâ or âDeathlessâ in Sanskrit.
This oneâs at the top of my current playlist. Love this song!
aaaahhh⊠now I know why this music touched me so deeply itâs also one of those that when I first listened to it, I was listening it several times for several daysâŠ
