This is a great documentary film that tells Krishna Dasâs story.
I first came across Krishna Dasâs music sometime in the late 90âs or early 2000âs. I was in a metaphysical bookstore in Portland browsing at books one evening and I hear this deep soulful voice singing in Sanskrit come on over the sound system. It gave me chills! I asked the woman at the counter who that was. âKrishna Das,â she answered. I walked out that day with a handful of his CDâs and have been a fan ever since.

I feel the earth calling us home
Back to the heart to the wild unknown
Humbled and gracious is where we belong
One family one tribe can we all get along
We call on the stars the rivers and trees
We learn from the mountains
The birds and the bees
We gather this sangha
Our roots grow down deep
Beneath the surface beyond our beliefs
We can come home
Children donât be afraid
Life is your teacher so donât run away
Stay wild and free raise your hands up and pray
This is our moment thereâs only today
Hey mamacita show us the way
Weâll no longer hide from the shadows and pain
We are alive
We are awake
We are the open and
This is our faith

Really Loved this film, thank you for sharing it Deer Brother
Iâve heard similarly that members of the Indian diaspora are getting more involved in traditional Hindu practices. Indian-Americans make up the majority in US ISKCON, for example. Apparently after success in the 70s recruiting Westerners, membership sharply dropped. It has since risen as more and more Indian-Americans are joining. Iâm also encouraged to see that. Maybe attributable to the uncertain times we live in? That can often lead people to a deeper interest in religion and spirituality. It has in my case at least.
Hereâs another one I like. These are all from a group called Bhakti Marga, headquartered in Mauritius.
