Yes, I know about all of this history. It’s horrifying. LSD was incredibly misused by MK-Ultra. There was even a case where a guy was dosed without his knowledge and he jumped out a window and killed himself because he thought he was going crazy. There cannot be a more horrible use of psychedelic drugs than this, except for perhaps Charles Manson!
Our country has an incredibly dark history. I have lived through much of the history spoken about in this video. I think that I first heard the term “deep state” in the early 2000’s in reference to Snowden’s revelations about what the NSA was doing. Check out the film “Snowden” if you’ve never seen it:
Originally, the term was used as a critique more from folks on the left, than from the right. Perhaps libertarians were also concerned about the deep state as well. And we were being lied to by the Bush Administration about “weapons of mass destruction” as a pre-text for invading Iran and advancing the interests of American imperialism and oil companies. Any accident that both Bush and Cheney had deep ties to the oil companies?
In the early 2000’s I had a client in my counseling practice here in Olympia, WA who revealed to me that she worked in a Federal government office here in Olympia that was spying on activists - mostly left wing activists such as anti-war activists and environmental and anti-logging activists. She admitted that they were tapping their phones and reading their emails. And this was just one small office here in Olympia. They had operations like this all over the country!
But now the term “deep state” is being used by Trump and politicians on the right. Are they talking about the same thing? It seems to me that the term is now being used as synonymous with any and all “big government.” The IRS, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Education, Medicare and Medicaid, etc, are now all “the Deep State.” “Be afraid! Be very afraid!”
C’mon give me a break! And now we have the richest man in the world going into our Social Security and Medicare accounts, etc. Talk about Plutocracy and a threat to Democracy!
So we have unelected Plutocrats now pulling the strings of our government. So who’s the “Deep State” now?!!!
I’m very concerned about where this is all headed. I’m afraid that this “Deep State threat” idea is now being used to institute even more of a Deep State! Can we twist our minds into even more of a pretzel?!
