If there really is no “self” then by ceasing the stories we can eliminate the identity of I/me?
James Low speaks of the “autobiographical self” that we constantly create through our stories and our ongoing narrative during the waking state.
I think that when we cease the narrative and the stories that is when the self really becomes no-self as we merge with the Great Coalescence.
One of my favorite mantras, especially during my nocturnal meditations is, “I flow through that which flows through me.”
Yes, go with the flow.
Nah There’s no need to be fearful at all. The body ain’t letting go of you easily, that’s for sure. That’s another one of those scary stories which have no basis in fact. The body has first dibs on your consciousness and will pull you back if it needs to go to the bathroom, or if the baby cries, etc. An OBE comes to an end all too easily in my relatively limited experience.
