😂 Funny Uplifting Comics, Pictures, Videos and Stuff - Everything Welcome

@NightHawk999 Strange how our world gets so polarized between liberals and conservatives or between vaxers and antivaxers, pro-ivermectin and anti-ivermectin, etc. As for my decision, I just really didn’t want to get covid and was both reading scientific articles and also using more woo methods like muscle testing. I would tune into the thought field of the covid vaccine and test if it made my muscle stronger or weaker (because the chi would be stronger or weaker). Same with ivermectin. They both muscle tested as strong. But I also have a scientific side that was reading a lot of research. Both the vaccines and ivermectin muscle tested as positive for me, so I did both! There were a lot of small studies from third world countries that indicated ivermectin protected people against covid, so at that time the evidence seemed like it might be good. Later there was a larger study that indicated that it didn’t help. At any rate, both the vaccinations and the ivermectin got me over the fear that was keeping me isolated. And what was good for me may not be what is good for anyone else. I know one person who got very sick after just one vaccination, but I also know people who chose not to get vaccinated and got very sick with covid - and some who developed long covid symptoms.

Amen

I believe both were valuable weapons to fight that terrible sickness.

I did not like how strongly many in the media were against theraputics that faught the virus while the vaccine was being developed, I think that killed people.

There are clips of Dr. Fauci decades ago talking negatively about using/developing therapeutics to fight HIV/AIDS, in his quest to develop a vaccine. In both cases drug companies made record profits and many people died.

History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme…

We were routinely given Ivermectin by the hospital travel clinic in MA in 2014 and 2018 before traveling to southern India. Why it became a bugaboo a few years later eludes me . . .

reminded of this text from Allan Watts:

On who you truly are

“Jesus Christ knew he was God. So wake up and find out eventually who you really are. In our culture, of course, they’ll say you’re crazy and you’re blasphemous, and they’ll either put you in jail or in a nut house (which is pretty much the same thing). However if you wake up in India and tell your friends and relations, ‘My goodness, I’ve just discovered that I’m God,’ they’ll laugh and say, ‘Oh, congratulations, at last you found out.”

Every intelligent individual wants to know what makes him tick, and yet is at once fascinated and frustrated by the fact that oneself is the most difficult of all things to know.”

“And people get all fouled up because they want the world to have meaning as if it were words… As if you had a meaning, as if you were a mere word, as if you were something that could be looked up in a dictionary. You are meaning.”

“How is it possible that a being with such sensitive jewels as the eyes, such enchanted musical instruments as the ears, and such fabulous arabesque of nerves as the brain can experience itself anything less than a god?"

“What I am really saying is that you don’t need to do anything, because if you see yourself in the correct way, you are all as much extraordinary phenomenon of nature as trees, clouds, the patterns in running water, the flickering of fire, the arrangement of the stars, and the form of a galaxy. You are all just like that, and there is nothing wrong with you at all.”

@_Barry. Yeah but 2014 and 2018 were way before covid. Ivermectin was originally developed as a treatment for parasites, so I assume they were giving it to you to prevent parasites. The question is whether it prevents viral infections like covid. The official word now is that it doesn’t, but who knows.

In terms of the Rumi quote: “be empty of worrying”, Yes! unless there is actually something there to worry about and something you can do about it. We evolved all of the emotions for a reason. I worry about walking out in the street without looking to see if there are any cars coming. If there are no cars, then “don’t worry, be happy.” But then it’s harder when there are invisible things like killer viruses going around. If worry and fear get us to take precautions, then it serves a positive purpose. But if it just keeps us living in fear and worry for no reason, then it doesn’t serve a purpose. Or you can say “this is all just a dream, so no worries.” On one level this is true. But on another level you could say we are in this dream for a reason in order to learn certain things, and the things that could kill us and take us out of this dream are part of the curriculum. And as Nietche said, “What ever doesn’t kill me, makes me stronger.”

Depends upon what “official” means, particularly in context.

Perhaps worry can be replaced with vigilance or alertness. I think of it (worry) as a worm, eating its way through an apple. Being alert while crossing the street need not have worry attached to it.

Yeah, I’ve seen hospital wards full of injured and maimed folks and I wouldn’t describe them as “stronger.” I never did appreciate that quote, but ready to listen to any erudition.

The official mainstream medicine view as represented by such bodies as the American Medical Association and World Health Organization. Mainstream Western medicine doesn’t think ivermectin prevents or treats covid. This is based on the latest studies. But science can always change as more studies are done. I still don’t know if Ivermectin kept me from getting covid or if my belief in it helped to strengthen my immune system. I know someone who didn’t get vaccinated and took ivermectin and got a very bad case of covid. I know others who did the same thing and never got it.
