Love this one:
Muse - Madness
So good, definitely think this cover is much better than the original, and thats saying a lot bc the original is pretty good:
Original:
Their album Simulation Theory is excellent.
Blockades is a good one where Matt expresses tearing down walls to see what is behind the veil.
This song is pretty good too.
Growing up in a Christian household I used to listen to Christian rock a lot. Moved away from it when I went to college but since Iāve come back to it and appreciated how some bands- especially this band dc Talk- just made good music. dc Talk is definitely the best of the bunch I feel and they deserve recognition outside Christian circles for the artistry of their music. This song is a beautiful devotional hymn to God.
Funny you mention that, was never into christian Rock or Gospel music for most of my life. A few years a friend gave me a cd of the band For King and Country, was a bit apprehensive at first, but gave it a go and after listening to it a few times it really grew on me:
I think this song was actually featured in the Disney movie Inside out:
Saved the best for last:
I am glad you reminded me of this album, havent heard it in over a year, very glad to recconect to their music.
Thatās a pretty crazy music video! Hop they didnāt do that to a real ship. They shouldāve give it to me instead.
I did find the music compelling. Iām interested. Not familiar with them they must be a new Christian band. I stopped listening in the naughts so donāt know what kind of bands have come along since.
My new favorite artist. Love the line here āGod loves you, but not enough to save you. So baby girl, good luck talking care of yourself.ā Its a beautiful expression of the alienation a lot of people feel from traditional Christian organizations.
Also sheās the only artist I know that can write so beautifully about cannibalism.
Yeah she is really good. A+!
How do you interpret this line?
Imthink this one is even better, really well written:
āSun-bleached flies sitting in the windowsill
Waiting for the day they escape
They talk all about their money and how their babies are always changing
While theyāre breathing in the poison of the paintā
Brilliant
" Ethel Cain has responded after former president Barack Obamaincluded her song āAmerican Teenagerā in his annual end-of-year culture roundup.
Each year, Obama has made a tradition of sharing his favourite books, films and music with his followers on social media.
In 2022, he revealed he has been listening to artists including Kendrick Lamar, a longtime favourite, along with Rosalia, Omar Apollo, SZA, Lizzo, Koffee, Bad Bunny, and Burna Boy.
Included in the list of 25 songs is Cainās single āAmerican Teenagerā, which is included on her debut album Preacherās Daughter"
I like the two songs you listed better than American Teenager. Cain is very talented formsure though:
Thought this one is pretty good too:
Have not seen the movie but its been on my to do list for years. Great song, perfect of celebrating St Patricks day
In for a treat. A perfect movie! One of my top three.
Interesting to see and hear the music that people are listening to as they are passing through the world at different points on the piano role. I like it when one generation honors another. I love to listen to a good piano player.
