I’ve always found this song helpful when I’m feeling down. No matter what you’re going through in life, the light will find you.

I’m a little silly I think, but I get really inspired whenever I hear the theme song of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. The lyrics resonate with the spiritual path… ā€œWe’re on the edge of greatnessā€ā€¦ ā€œTurning darkness into lightā€ā€¦ ā€œWe must be strong, and we must be brave.ā€ That last part really resonates with how Pema Chodron talks about being a spiritual warrior.

I think I was the only guy in the theater when I took my wife to see ā€œMama Miaā€ in the movies— loved it. Same for the play, a couple of times with my daughter. Definitely, music as an UPPER for the subtle body!

I haven’t seen the movie, just the scenes where they sing ABBA songs. Loved those parts. Maybe I should get around to watching the rest. :grinning:

I thought both movies were pretty good. The play is also worth the effort because the music is live and while not ABBA-voiced, live performances can be really moving experiences.

Very well done video and I enjoyed the song.
This one is more hard rockish but that video and its message reminded me of this song:

This song is pretty good, one of the few about lucid dreaming I have come across.

Bastille has a couple good song I like. If I remember correctly this album was written during the pandemic and it was based on escapism. This song lucid dreaming, some of the others on the album were about virtual reality in the future.

Good song. I really haven’t listened to much Disturbed, besides their cover of ā€œThe Sound of Silenceā€ which I really love. I should look into more of their repertoire.

I can’t listen to many songs with this theme without getting a bit depressed. And the imagery used in the music videos of these songs- or on documentaries about climate change- always disturbs me a lot, especially videos of polar bears struggling to get onto a chunk of ice. I suppose that’s the point though- we need to be disturbed and start taking action. This is a major reason why I am here taking these teachings, trying to remove the toxic ā€œappetiteā€ from my own being. It probably won’t help much but maybe it will sending something out into the collective consciousness to help someone be just a little less greedy.

This is one of their better performances I’ve ever seem too. You might like this one also. Right on par with that cover.

I think every little bit helps!

A couple weeks ago I tried an experiment with a few people close to me. I asked them to listen to this song and write what they thought it was about. Every person had a dramatically different answer which demonstrates how easy it is to forget every being looks through their own lens and places their own meaning on the world in different ways. If you want to add to the experiment I’d be very happy to read your interpretation also :slightly_smiling_face:.

This was my interpretation of the song (I worked with AI to express my idea the best I could with this)

The lyrics in question depict the journey of a lucid dreamer(in the waking world), who becomes aware of the nature of the dreamscape and begins to understand that everything they previ ously thought to be true is actually illusory and malleable.

The dreamer is filled with regret and shame, as they realize that they should have known the truth earlier, and they reflect on past actions that may have had negative consequences.

The dreamer feels the weight of their choices, and sees themselves as a pawn in a larger game, but not fully in control.

The waves of the dreamscape radiate far and wide. The dream is described as broken(upon discovering its true nature), therefore minds must be woken to see it as changeable. The dreamer wonders why others are not taking action and questions actions of conquerors, who destroy everything in their path, causing mothers to weep

In this dreamscape, there is a title awarded to the victor known as ā€œThe Greatā€. However, this greatness is based on the unlearning of mysteries and the reduction of history to just a series of dates. Despite the shattered state of the dream, the dreamer remains hopeful for change

The individual wonders why others have not received an invitation to awaken their consciousness and understand the nature of the dream world. Frustration arises from the lack of response and action, leading to inquiries about the reason for hesitation and procrastination.

The dreamer also wonders what others are waiting for and encourages them to take action to understand the illusory nature of the dreamscape. The lyrics ask the listener, ā€œHey, I don’t know, why dont you tell me?ā€ suggesting that the dreamer is seeking answers from others, who may be similarly aware within the dreamscape.

Love this song. Very folksy. I saw the movie and it is brilliant. I think this song captures the aesthetics of Van Gogh’s life very well.

This song reminded me of ā€œBrother Son and Sister Moonā€ from Donovan, from the movie of the same name, which is about the life of St. Francis of Assisi.

The first line of the song is absolutely brilliant:

Brother Sun and Sister Moon
I seldom see you, seldom here your tune
Preoccupied with selfish misery

Saw Donovan in concert in the early 70s. Always a big fan. Loved this duet with Joan Baez.

Sad to say I don’t know any of his songs outside of the Brother Sun, Sister Moon soundtrack. I liked this one though.

Perhaps the ultimate ā€œTripā€ song of the '60s, should be played very loud.

ā€œThe star maker says it ain’t so bad
The dream maker’s gonna make you mad
The spaceman says, ā€œEverybody look down
It’s all in your mindā€ā€

My current favorite song:

I’ve always been a fan of Breaking Benjamin. Saw them at a local venue with a small crowd awhile back. Playing live they are just as good as their recordings.

Also love this song. Empire of the Sun seems to be one of those bands that understands the layer beneath basic reality and expresses themselves in a beautiful eccentric way.

It is a beautiful concept sung well. " Is it real now, when two people become one I can feel it, When two people become one.

Last one, 50/50 my favorite bands… split between Muse and Incubus this is one of those songs that rises up. Love it.
