Baba must have seen Krishna Das future and what he could do to raise the level of collective conscience in the future. The energy at his concert you attended must have been incredible :pray:t2:

@sky

LOVE that song, never heard it before, its soooooooooooo GOOD!

Very cool synchronicity, last week I was reading Andrews Reverse Meditations book, and he uses the Turtles stacked on Turtles (all the way down) to illustrate the layers of contraction of the body and mind all the way down to the very subtle body (soul?).

Rare to find a song where almost all the lyrics are golden, this one hit a huge homerun!:

" I’ve seen Jesus play with flames
In a lake of fire that I was standing in
Met the devil in Seattle
And spent nine months inside the lions den
Met Buddha yet another time
And he showed me a glowing light within
But I swear that God is there
Every time I glare into the eyes of my best friend

Says my son, ā€œIt’s all been done
And someday you’re gonna wake up old and gray
So go and try to have some fun
Showing warmth to everyone
You meet and greet and cheat along the wayā€

There’s a gateway in our minds
That leads somewhere out there, far beyond this plane
Where reptile aliens made of light
Cut you open and pull out all your pain
Tell me how you make illegal
Something that we all make in our brain
Some say you might go crazy
But then again, it might make you go sane

Every time I take a look
Inside that old and fabled book
I’m blinded and reminded of
The pain caused by some old man in the sky
Marijuana, LSD
Psilocybin, and DMT
They all changed the way I see
But love’s the only thing that ever saved my life

So don’t waste your mind on nursery rhymes
Or fairy tales of blood and wine
It’s turtles all the way down the line
So to each their own 'til we go home
To other realms our souls must roam
To and through the myth that we all call space and time"

Om Namah Shivaya - Krishna Das

OMG!

WOW this one is amazing! Not often do I get a head and body high off of listening to a song, Thank you for that. Love how the audience joins him. I hate to say it, this song may be one of the best ones I have heard all year :star_struck: :star_struck: :star_struck:

Not sure the instrument hes playing, but its really beautiful.

Just listened to this song tonight. This evening I found out they had to put down one of the horses at a place I volunteer at. I think this is a very fitting tune as her R.I.P song.

Yeah Krishna Das is the man! Probably the most famous Western kirtan singer. I can give a little background since I have been involved some in the kirtan scene. Kirtan is a big part of Bhakti Yoga, which is the yoga of devotion, so it’s a spiritual practice. It involves call and response chanting of mantras. The instrument he’s playing is a harmonium. It’s ironic that Christian Missionaries took the harmonium to India to teach Indians to sing Christian hymns. Indians loved it but instead began using it to chant mantras! How’s that for Karma? LOL

Yeah he is, talk about making a crowd resonate, WOW! Very impressive.

I dont think I havevheard of him before. Better late than never :slightly_smiling_face:

Very cool, never heard of Kirtan or Bhaki Yoga before.

The first time I listened to the Krishna Das video, I wasnt watching it, just listening with headphones and laying down. The energy of the crowd was palpable. Then I listened a second time and watched the video, and I could see why the sounds vibes were so powerful.

Karma, like the Lord, works in mysterious ways  :upside_down_face: :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, there is a whole Kirtan scene here in the Western world right now. The most famous Western Kirtan musicians are Krishna Das, Deva Premal and Jai Uttal. Jai Uttal was also among the young hippies who followed Ram Das to India. Bhaktifest, that I just attended near Joshua Tree California is all about Kirtan and Yoga (although they have non-kirtan musicians there also, like Ayla Nereo and Michael Franti), and they also do a similar festival in the Spring called Shaktifest.
