:folded_hands:t2::hugs: i think you may have stolen this one from me, i think i recal you said you were saving in your treasure box, or something like that.

The video was one of my 1st Facebook posts which i transcribed part of it:

"Nature Of Mind ~ HH Dalai Lama

“In the Nyingma tradition, particularly from the Dzogchen (Great Perfection) perspective one speaks of the and gives teachings of the levels of the most subtle level of consciousness, which is the innate mind of the clear light and there the focus is primarily on inducing the nature of mind at the level of bringing about the realisation of that awareness.”

“So one unique method is the Great Perfection (Dzogchen) tradition is based upon drawing the distinctions between what the tradition calls ‘Basic Mind’ verses ‘Primordial Awareness’ or ‘Rigpa Awareness’, and here the distinctions is understood on the basis of those mental states which are more occasional and more temporary. These belong to a more fluctuating nature, they are characterised as belonging to basic ordinary state of mind. The Rigpa Awareness is characterised as being devoid of that kind of fluctuation, there ever present and also they are recognised to be a primordial quality of consciousness, the distinction is drawn between those two. So Rigpa Awareness that is characterised as free from fluctuating, ever present and so on is referred to as Samapadra - all goodness and with no beginning or no end, atemporal.”

“The Great Perfection (Dzogchen) practice is where the focus is really on affecting the realisation of rigpa/primordial awareness. So therefore when I, and this is in fact the approach that is presented in the 7 Treasuries of Longchenpa, I normally recommend people who wish to engage in the Great Perfection practice to proceed by first studying Longchen Rabjam’s ‘Treasury of Philosophical Systems’, then ‘Treasury of Wish Fulfilling Jewel’, then ‘The Mind At Ease’ where there’s a custom of studying and practicing over a period of 145 days. Then one could gradually move onto the study of ‘The Treasury Of The Supreme Vehicle’ and then ‘The Treasury Of The Ultimate Expanse’, and then this way the approach would be very systematic.”

“But of course there could be an individual’s circumstances where some individual practitioners may have residual karmic forces being brought from a previous life and then they in a sense are connecting and moving on from an already certain stage in which case a very specific instruction from an experienced Guru or Master maybe an appropriate approach, but generally for most practitioners it is better to approach from the basis of having an overall understanding of the structure of the Buddhist path and then engage in specific practices on that basis.”
