AI drawing tool to help draw/express dreams

I remember the rosy predictions of the 1964-5 NY World’s Fair, those made at Expo 67 in Montreal and the cockeyed optimism of The Vancouver World’s Fair in 1986 (o date, the last World’s Fair to be held in North America) and yet, after living in a few different environments around the world, I remain skeptical.

While both AGI (artificial general intelligence) and the World Fair are significant technological developments, they are vastly different in nature. AGI is a highly advanced form of AI that can potentially rival or surpass human intelligence in all cognitive tasks. On the other hand, the World Fair is a global exhibition that showcases the latest technological, scientific, and cultural achievements of nations and organizations.

It’s important to note that the World Fair has been held since the mid-19th century and has evolved over time to reflect the changing global landscape. In contrast, AGI is a relatively new and rapidly advancing field (a side note here is that it is already allowing rapid advancement for programmers and anyone in the IT field which in turn makes AI more powerful. Especially chatGPT which has full access to the internet ( ChatGPT can now access the internet and run the code it writes ) ) that has the potential to transform numerous aspects of society. Therefore, it’s not entirely fair to compare these two disparate entities in terms of technological advancements.

However, it’s possible to appreciate the impact and significance of both AGI and the World Fair in their respective domains. AGI has the potential to revolutionize fields such as healthcare, (IT,) transportation, and finance, while the World Fair provides a platform for nations and organizations to showcase their achievements and promote international cooperation.

I had AI change my response to tie it in with the world fair which I am unfamiliar with. Hopefully it was able to accurately portray my thoughts on how insanely fast AI is developing and compare it accurately to the world fair.

The only thing I remember from the world fair is seeing glass figurines of it in a china cabinet .

Here is a page from a former University of mine, to students who want to use ChatGPT to do their homework. I thought it was instructive. Here’s a list of World Fairs from Wikipedia. In my experience, they are worth visiting if the $tars align.

I did some sesrches on Bing for the first time in years this weekend. You were 100% right! Its results were far superior to googles. I was really impressed.

No wonder why Microsoft stock rallied so big over the past few months. Google has some big competition.

Saw this article this weekend too, seems like AI is disrupting almost every sector of the economy, for better or worse…:

This is pretty profound. Talk about democratizing qualitity health care to many impoverished people who otherwise would not have access to doctors, quality docotrs, or medical knowledge.

Very powerful.

So how about the doctor/patient relationship? Might that be one factor that could up the doctor diagnosis vs an AI app?

Here is a new tool that was just released by stability.ai it is a solid, quick and accurate image generator that also allows you to use negative image prompts.

(A negative prompt is a parameter that tells the image generator what you don’t want to see in the generated images. When specified, it guides the generation process not to include things in the image according to a given text. A negative prompt may prevent generating specific things, styles or fix some image abnormalities.)

If you wanted to, soon you will be able to describe a dream character and scene to AI, it will model it for you in CAD software and you could print on your 3d printer. Instead of just pictures you could re-create your dream with little action figures. :smile_cat:

Graphics modeling has taken a pretty big leap forward, for the next two videos you have to open the source link to see the quality. The embedded video is pixelated pretty badly for me.

Also, these show the evolution of Midjourney. All the same prompts were used. The only thing that changed between the photos was the version of Midjourney that was used:

From the article:

Because what we are witnessing is the wealthiest companies in history (Microsoft, Apple, Google, Meta, Amazon …) unilaterally seizing the sum total of human knowledge that exists in digital, scrapable form and walling it off inside proprietary products, many of which will take direct aim at the humans whose lifetime of labor trained the machines without giving permission or consent.

This should not be legal. In the case of copyrighted material that we now know trained the models (including this newspaper), various lawsuits have been filed that will argue this was clearly illegal. Why, for instance, should a for-profit company be permitted to feed the paintings, drawings and photographs of living artists into a program like Stable Diffusion or Dall-E 2 so it can then be used to generate doppelganger versions of those very artists’ work, with the benefits flowing to everyone but the artists themselves?
