The Importance of Forgiveness
This is the way!!!
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven…
Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us!
and also the most rewarding practice… it brings us back to now, the only moment where Love is.
thank you for starting this thread.
great video
forgiveness may be difficult, but it’s the thing that gives us most light, lightness and free happy hearts.
Amen Sister!
I think when we dig deep within ourselves, and see our own delusions and short comings it inspires a great deal of compassion for others. No one ego is perfect, and so much of our egoic imperfections are conditioned, often insidiously by a culture that is trying to ‘grow’ reactive consumers!
The Monsters that harm children in this world are still on my shit list, and I do believe the lowest levels of Hell will be where their souls end up. Very tough for me to see them as children of God, even though the scriptures say this is so.
This is from my first book, “Messages of the Heart” (published only in Portuguese - in 2014):
in English:
“Forgiveness is like a friend who gives us their hand saying: “What do you wish to give your attention to? How do you want your life to be? With grief, resentment and things from the past or do you want it to be light, crystalline and brilliant?”
In this conversation with Forgiveness we decide.
Forgiving is Loving.
The most profound and transformative Forgiveness is towards ourselves.
Forgiveness cleans us and is always there whenever we invoke it.”
This is what I learned, especially in the process of my son’s death it went on for several months after his passage, where I did a reset in my life, also thanks to the powerful help of Self-Forgiveness.
@Kalabasis just thought of you… if you wish I can share with you my practice…
“It is who we become that changes the world not what we do.”
Sandra Ingerman
Wise words, I would add:
Forgiveness towards ourSelves [large S] is also fogiveness towards others, and vice versa.
Highly reccomend this for all deeper divers on the path
yes, when we do it to ourselves, others also come in, of course
Self-forgiveness is the highest responsibility for our actions and deeds. We are the ones who allow things to happen, or not. We are the ones making decisions in our lives.
I keep this practice of forgiving myself quite regularly - for the little things and sometimes, big things… and I also praise and thank myself quite often for the decisions I take in life
For me this is Strong and Profound Self-Love.
Yes! 100%!
That’s great to hear!
This is in line with a belief I hold very close to my heart:
A Course in Miracles emphasizes the importance of forgiveness in our spiritual journey. It teaches that forgiveness is the key to inner peace and the pathway to recognizing our true, sinless nature.
As the Course states, “Forgiveness is the key to happiness. Here is the answer to your search for peace. Here is the key to meaning in a world that seems to make no sense” (W-121.1:1-3). By forgiving ourselves, we release the illusions of guilt and separation, recognizing that, in truth, we are always innocent and united with the Divine.
Two quotes I like from the course that compliment this concept:
“There is no sin; it has no consequence. The Holy Spirit’s vision is merciful and His remedy is quick. Do not be afraid of Him. He brings you home. Do not withhold your gratitude to God, for He has placed you beyond the belief in sin and guilt in the mercy of His Love” (T-25.V.5:1-5).
“It is impossible to sin, because sin is not real. It is a delusional attempt to place oneself beyond the reach of forgiveness” (T-19.II.6:1-2).
Forgiveness is the core of my spiritual practice. Even for the worst offenders, I believe in mercy, love, and forgiveness. There’s no reason to perpetuate a cycle of suffering when love and peace can be found in the present moment through forgiveness and letting go.
However, I also believe that this understanding shouldn’t be used to justify negative actions. It is a delicate balance, as with many aspects of the spiritual path.
Amen Sister
Also with self forgiveness comes repentance, which I think is equally important. If the wrongs cant be made right, then paying it forward, and helping those in need.
yes… repentance is true magic - it’s what makes the lesson become alive.
which can also be to not doing it again - to yourself and others, because of true repentance then you are ready for the next steps of growth. Celebrating is really important in these processes.

so wonderful that you share this here… what a blessing you are!.. such precious and powerful information.
I have just asked permission to my source of inspiration for sharing it here on a public space… (I was thinking of sharing it with @Kalabasis in a personal message). I did this process as a preparation for one of the most intensive life changing retreats of my life, in 2011: “Divine Intervention”, a three week shamanic retreat, which I repeated in 2013, as teacher assistant
Ho’oponopono is a traditional Hawaiian practice of forgiveness and reconciliation.
Traditionally there were Ho’oponopono ceremonies of reconciliation when there were conflicts between families and clans. Over time, it evolved into a more inward spiritual practice of healing all kinds of problems, both within oneself and with others by chanting it as an inward mantra. The words are:
I’m sorry,
Please forgive me,
Thank you,
I love you.
Over 10 hours of Ho’oponopono by a Native Hawaiian. Put it on in the background as you work around the house, while you sleep, or whatever. They say it helps to “clean” your soul, your life and the whole world!
