This is a thread to post things you are grateful for as often as you wish, daily if you want. Practicing gratitude daily has a whole host of physical and mental benefits. It helps us be more present. It improves our self worth. It also connects us more deeply to the people in our lives. As people on the spiritual path, I feel practicing gratitude is an extremely helpful practice.
Today I am grateful for having access, and being interested, in spiritual teachings during this life time. I know a lot of people just aren’t interested in spirituality. My heart is full of joy when I contemplate that I get to spend this life on the spiritual path.
I’m also grateful that I live in a time when I can learn from all the religions all over the world. My heart is so hungry for truth, I feel it wouldn’t be satisfied by the teachings of just one religion. It gives me so much happiness to be able to learn from Daoists, Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, followers of indigenous religions, and from the world’s other spiritual traditions from my home with just the click of a mouse.
Oftentimes before I go into deep prayer sessions, I will start it with a list of things I am truly grateful for, often the things so many of us take for granted [I don’t do this unless my heart is 100% in it, no lip service]:
Thank you God for this Breath
Thank you God for this Mind
Thank you God for the ability to walk
Thank you God for this health
Thank you God for this bed to sleep in
Thank you God for this roof over my head
Thank you God for these clothes protecting my body
Thank you God for running water, and the ability to stay clean
Thank you God for providing food to keep me nourished and energized
Thank you God for the spiritual teachings you have blessed humanity with
Thank you God for the freedom to worship you without persecution
Thank you God for the people on this planet with hearts of gold
Thank you God for all the Miracles you make happen every second of the day.
Thank you God for the gift of eternal life
Thank you God for Blessing our Ancestors, and helping them endure so much suffering and so many trials and tribulations, so that we could be here today
I feel a deep gratitude for the beings I’ve met here and elsewhere, who have communicated with me and listened and offered suggestions. I feel like I’ve reached a realization today of my true purpose, and I feel like an incredible pressure has been lifted, and all I feel is pure joy. I’m very thankful that I think I’ve finally realized what is the right path for me – working towards the betterment of all sentient beings.

Watched this video randomly on a whim less than 24 hours ago, and was drawn to their energy and loving hearts:
The Sisters of Life Answer the Internet’s Top Questions About Nuns
I was deeply touched by their vows of poverty, and how difficult this is to do, putting your faith and trust 100% in the hands of God.
This video was very illuminating, especially the part about how they make their own clothes, and why they wear the veil, along with the importance of a balance of contemplative prayer and doing Gods work out in the field. So cool how they get their names!!! I was so ignorant of all this information.
So today while grabbing something at the $1 store, I had a big Sychronicity: The woman in front of me had checked out all her items and was getting ready to pay. I looked at her and she was wearing a nearly identical dress and veil to the women in the video. I cant remember ever seeing someone wearing this in public.
I wasn’t sure if she was a Sister, but told the checkout lady I would pay for her stuff. I don’t have a lot of money, but after learning about her vow of poverty (from the video) and her tribe dedicating their lives to Gods work, I figured it was the least I could do.
Thank you God for people like this in the world, who align their hearts and actions fully with Truth and Love.
I am thankful for those little moments of sweetness during spiritual practice. For extra deep meditation sessions. For tears while singing devotional songs. For the excitement of knowing you are in a dream. For those moments your heart opens up in love.
