This is a fascinating read about how authoritarian regimes influence the collective unconscious, and work at the level of dreams. Focusing on Hitler, it’s a review of “The Third Reich of Dreams,” a book widely received in Germany, but little known in the US. The tenets are still at work today, as another New Yorker article describes in terms of current political realities (that I won’t post, out of concerns for political sensitivity).
