Hi everyone. Decided to be part of this community again after a lot of hesitation. Last time I was here I felt unwelcome because some of the things another user was posting. I still feel that sense of unwelcome, but I have that person on ignore now so I think everything should work out fine. For some reason despite telling myself that I can find other similar communities to be a part of, I keep getting drawn back to this one. I think that’s because of the wonderful people here, the amazing stuff that’s discussed here, and the priceless teachings offered here by Holocek and company. So yeah, I am officially back. And committing again to be more active in this community.
Haven’t been practicing lucid dreaming lately. I want to start that up again. Interestingly though despite not practicing I’ve had around 4 spontaneous lucid dreams in the past few months. Maybe my background lucidity has improved somehow? I dunno it’s weird but hopefully I can build on it.
My primary interest in lucid dreaming at the moment is to use it for shadow work. That’s gonna be my focus with my dream practice. This is my new dream journal and I’ll be posting significant dreams here.
Anyways this is just a quick “Hi everyone I’m back.” Gotta get back to work. Looking forward to being part of this community again.
Hey Bucket, just wanted to say this is exactly why I left Nightclub (and I’m not coming back), combined with the fact that a) almost no one but me seemed to have any problem with that person’s transphobic posting, and b) whoever was ostensibly moderating the forum at the time didn’t even seem to notice what was going on, let alone do something about it. (Pro-tip for moderators: don’t tolerate intolerance) Luckily I found a much better dream forum that is very well moderated and trans-friendly. I’ll DM you about it
(I still get the weekly Nightclub email summary and usually glance at it, which is how I found out about this post.)
Hi @ArthurG , I saw the same thing happen over and over. Many good members of the community have left because of the same member.
Can you PM me the forum when you have time? I’m interested to observe how another forum centered on dreams operates that is moderated compared to this one.
Hi. Not sure if you will read this, but I just wanted to thank you for popping back on here to reply to my post. Yes I have similar concerns. About the lack of moderation, and the lack of support for LGTBQ+ people here. At the same time there are people here that are genuinely kind and that I’ve connected with. So I’m currently figuring out what my level of engagement here should be. Maybe I’ll end up leaving the community again, but I think it’s worth it for me at least to give it another try.
Another thing I would add on to what you wrote is the amount of political discussion that takes place here. Coming from the Christian tradition, I’ve seen how right-wing nationalism has infected American Christianity and completely subverted it from prioritizing the things that were important to Jesus, the founder of the religion. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God” Jesus said. Instead Christianity has just become a means to gain worldly influence and power, something totally again Jesus’ ethos. “My kingdom is not of this world/ do not store up treasures on earth where moth and rust corrupt…” So I’m sensitize to the ways excessive political discussion in a spiritual setting- especially unmoderated political discussion- can be very unhealthy and damaging to a spiritual community.
Oh thank you! I’d love to connect with a more affirming dreamwork community. I’ll check out the link you sent.
Thanks again for replying and for sending me that link!
