Inspired in this, I notice that older folks start repeating the same stories over and over again because we become passive and don’t ask questions. Usually in a short story a strong emotion can be underlying the whole situation when we care to find it.
In memory terms what happens is that the synapses start closing up, dying as well. the more questions we ask, the more we can keep the memory active.
