" Deer are significant in Buddhism for a number of reasons, including:

  • The Buddha’s first teachings

The Buddha first taught in the Deer Park, and deer symbolize the Buddha’s teachings and the act of receiving them.

  • The Jataka tales

Deer are often featured in the Jataka tales, which are parables about the Buddha’s previous lives as humans and animals. One of these tales is “The Golden Deer”, which tells the story of the Buddha reincarnating as a deer with golden fur, sapphire eyes, and horns and hooves that shone like precious stones.

  • The harmony of nature

Deer are often depicted in landscapes with auspicious deities, representing the harmony of nature.

  • The dharma wheel and deer

A dharma wheel with a pair of deer is a symbol of Buddhism, representing skillful means and wisdom.

  • The Tibetan Deer Dance

The Tibetan Deer Dance is a cham dance that combines pre-Buddhist thought with later Buddhist faith. The deer in this dance represents longevity, prosperity, and a desire for peace.

  • The deer mandala of Kasuga Shrine

The deer is the vehicle of the deity Takemikazuchi, who rides on a cloud and wears a saddle that supports a tree with a golden mirror that contains images of five Buddhist deities."

this is another synch… I think this is all happening because of Christmas! :dolphin:
only yesterday I read your marvelous question about the golden garments that Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche and Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche (and other Lamas) use sometimes… inspired on the recent insight I had about the Lama (flame) it could be that it’s a representation of the bright golden light that they are :deer: I also remember a very estimated Lama that many people here at NCC love once saying that he is gold and his thoughts are his clothes… remember that passage @mbready ?

I LOVED this story about the GOLDEN DEER…! precious… I’m taking it. I think it’s a great story for children… what do you think @NightHawk999 ?

all masters I know are like this… like you… very humble… so great that you had a series of dreams… lately what I see happening is that besides series of dreams, when I wake up, they keep on - with eyes closed I see images as if in dreams! pretty cool.

Remember that once I mentioned that I asked intuition about being part of NCC? In my visions, there was a deer in this community. Now that I know this story of the Golden Deer, I would say that the Deer in NCC is You, My Heart! So, who knows… perhaps you were a Buddha in a previous life! What an honor and privilege to have such a deer friend :deer: :pray:t3:

I was thinking something similar about you, Dearest Beloved!

Hannibal Lector as sacred teaching?!
Sorry, I can’t even watch this stuff.

OK, I’m remembering now that AH has a practice of watching horror films in order to transcend emotional reactions to them. Perhaps that’s why you posted this here?

I haven’t gotten into those teachings yet.
They may be too advanced for me right now.

No. Dig deeper. This is a sacred teaching on:

Virtue

VS

Virtue Signalling

:medal_sports:

How “Virtue Signalling” Is Collapsing Society

" Virtue signaling is the act of expressing opinions or taking actions to appear virtuous, often on social media, without a genuine belief in or commitment to the cause

  • Definition

Expressing opinions that are popular or acceptable to others, especially on social media, to appear good

  • Intent

To gain social approval without taking meaningful action

  • Examples

Companies exaggerating their environmental commitments (greenwashing) or celebrities whose actions seem disconnected from their public stances

  • Tone

Often used as a pejorative term to suggest that someone is more concerned with appearing virtuous than with supporting the cause

Here are some examples of virtue signaling:

  • Someone who tweets about the evils of the prison-industrial complex, but doesn’t put any time, energy, or money into working to reform it

Virtue signaling is often used as an ad hominem attack, which is a charge that dismisses an argument based on the character of the presenter, not the argument itself. However, some argue that these expressions of outrage or moral alignment may reflect genuine concern.?"

Hollow Hearted politicians are a prime example of VS.

I agree.
I started to watch the Hannibal Lector videos but it was too much for me, so didn’t finish them.
Sorry, I could never stomach horror films.

I would call it BrainBow Bridge… BBB! hihihi…

:brain: :bow_and_arrow: :rainbow:

Interesting enough, I am also not at all into horror movies, but some decades ago I would watch them every now and then, and I remember a deep connection with the deep teachings, and beyond the character… As far as i remember, I could feel LOVE for him, and see the Virtue, indeed.
