Or BOTH???
Adding this medicine to my bucket list. Never tried, but now I am very curious.
Have you tired it?
How would you compare it to Ayahuasca or Psilocybin trips?
Ahhh this is probably one of the biggest reasons why it is illegal in the states.
With over 66% of the population obese, the last thing needed is more stressors on the hearts of people.
I wonder how long the effects take to hit the mind? Instantaneous, or is it delayed set in (hours) like Psilocybin ?
As I said above, it is one of the few that I’ve never tried.
I know that it’s way, way longer than most other psychedelics.
Re: heart arrythmias: No, that wasn’t even known when it was made illegal by the Nixon administration. Basically they just made a list of every known psychedelic and made them all illegal. Ibogaine somehow ended up on the list.
There is nothing the least bit recreational about ibogaine. It’s a serious medicine.
Yes it seems like it.
The long trip time and the cardiovascular vulnerabilities are serious risk factors that should not be overlooked by people contemplating this medicine.
That being said, for long term addicts, the reward of Ibogaine more than likely outweighs the risks
If I were to do it, I would go to a good facility that did the heart monitoring. I saw a website for a place in the Yukatan run by a cardiologist (who is also a former opioid addict) that has EKG’s hooked up during the whole trip. Many other places require that you do an EKG prior to doing the medicine.
Huberman is pretty good on the psychedelics because the research has convinced him. Initially he was very against all drugs, but he’s come around on the therapeutic benefits of psychedelics.
@NightHawk999 The Rick Simpson cannabis oil used by the woman with cancer in the 2nd Dosed film is a very concentrated form of cannabis oil taken orally. One dose is a tiny drop on the end of a toothpick. This is the story of Rick Simpson, a guy from Newfoundland who discovered this oil and gave it out for free to people with cancer in his community, many of them claimed that they were healed of cancer by this oil. More research is needed but there is a lot of anecdotal evidence for this oil.
One good thing about cannabis being moved to Schedule III in the U.S. is that it will make research on medical uses much easier. Right now it is very difficult to do research on Schedule I drugs. The only cannabis that has been approved for research in the U.S. is a very weak strain grown at a government run farm in Mississippi.
Thank you for telling me about this.
I had not heard about the oil possibly helping fight cancers cells until watching that video. Very cool to see it helped save lives, and really loved the story about him giving it away for free to those people. Sounds like someone cuaght the Christmas Spirit
I tried some RS oil out of curiosity once. Just a tiny dab the size of a rice grain on the end of a toothpick. It just knocked me out and put me to sleep!
I think that the cancer patients who use it just sleep a lot, so that in itself is probably very healing.
brilliant! thank you for sharing.
Twas the Night Before Solstice:mushroom:
’Twas the night before Solstice, and all through the land,
The snow blanketed forests, the frost took its stand.
But deep in Lapland, in a world icy and stark,
A tale of red mushrooms was beginning to spark.
The Sami, they say, in their wintry domain,
Had shamans who traveled the spiritual plane.
With Amanita muscaria, bright red and white,
They bridged human and spirit on a magical flight.
The mushrooms were dried to diminish their bite,
Then consumed by the shaman on a mystical night.
The reindeer, enchanted, would leap through the skies,
While the shaman brought healing with wisdom so wise.
Down through the chimneys, they’d sometimes descend,
Bringing gifts of solutions, their powers to lend.
With sleds pulled by reindeer, they defied space and time,
Their stories enduring in legend and rhyme.
And what of St. Nick, with his jolly, kind cheer?
Could his roots trace back to this tale so clear?
A healer, a traveler, a giver of gifts—
Perhaps Santa Claus inherited these myths.
So now, as the lights on the tree softly glow,
Remember the mushrooms beneath Arctic snow.
For Santa’s shamanic, or so some suppose,
With a lineage ancient as Lapland’s cold snows.
This Solstice, let’s ponder the myths that we weave—
From mushrooms to magic, to what we believe.
For the spirit of wonder, so youthful and bright,
Wishing you all a psychedelic solstice on this cold winter’s night.

Here is some more on the Amanita Muscaria mushroom a psycho-active mushroom that is very different than the psilocybin mushrooms. It is the classic red mushroom with white spots (and some believe is connected with Santa Clause). This woman who calls herself “Amanita Dreamer” has an interesting story. She was suffering from severe anxiety and panic attacks and got addicted to benzodiazepine medicactions in her attempt to manage her panic attacks, but the medication made it so that she could not function well in her life or keep a job. She was living alone in a cabin in the Appalachian region of Georgia. She got to the point where she decided to commit suicide but decided to take a walk in the woods before she killed herself. On this walk she found a bunch of Amanita muscaria mushrooms. She didn’t know anything about them - whether they were edible or medicinal or poisonous but after researching them, just decided to try them, since she planned to die anyway. They sent her on a journey and when she came down from this journey, her anxiety and panic and benzo addiction was gone, with no withdrawal! This video is her story. She sells amanita products on her website. Use these with caution. Some folks have gone on very wild trips where they run amok in blackouts. I have tried them at lower dosages and to me it feels a bit like alcohol (it works with the Gabanergic system in the brain). Amanita dreamer sells amanita products on her website and provides coaching for those who want to use them medicinlly.
Also, the FDA recently ruled that these cannot be sold in food products as some folks have run into trouble with amanita gummies or related products. Some of these products were adulterated with many other kinds of toxic substances. Amanita dreamer sells dried amanita mushrooms and tinctures on her website. I’m not sure how this ruling will effect her business. See https://www.amanitadreamer.net . To my knowledge there has been no research on using this mushroom for anxiety. It would be great if some research was done on this.
This mushroom was also used by Siberian shamans to journey into the spirit world. Oftentimes they would drink the urine of reindeer who had been feeding on these mushrooms, as the urine would concentrate the muscimol (active ingredient).
Amen
Sleep is one of the most important, if not the most important, variables for healing, health, and strengthening the immune system.
