Article about psychedelics and dreams

This is your brain on drugs. More specifically, on psilocybin.

The default mode network (the part of the brain most associated with your ego) becomes quieter, while other parts of the brain that don’t normally talk to each other begin to communicate and interconnect in new ways.

Love this, very cool to see the science showing some very promising results.

I agree with this. Better to start small and gradually work your way up to higher doses, if you choose to.

The first time I did ayahuasca it was with the Santo Daime Church in Ashland, OR and they poured me a huge glass of the medicine!
And yeah, it was a bit much (although turned out OK in the end),
I’m a large guy so maybe they based it on size, but I’m also very sensitive to medicines. Better to be cautious, especially with any medicine that you are new to.

p.s. I’ve never done kambo but I know several people who have done it. It’s not psychedelic but it can be an intense cleanse. This guy’s reactions were pretty mellow compared to some other people.

Great Heartmind thinks a like my Friend, I was actually going to post this video as well, but you beat me to the punch
:folded_hands:

My first time with :mushroom: I did a dose the size of a small aspirin.
Very glad I started slow. Had a wonderful experience in the woods,

Other Newbs who did larger sizes were not as lucky…

Mushroom the size of an asprin?
That is a true microdose. Most people wouldn’t feel that at all.
You felt it?

Yes, start small. But for most people a half gram of cubensis is starting small.

a small piece of it, not sure if it was the cap or stem.

I had a healthy dose of fear going into it. Glad I started small, some people are more sensitive to these medicines and in rare cases, some people may be allergic. Best to play it safe, and build up slowly over time.

Some people take that much on a daily basis as a microdose, which can help depression. Paul Stamets also believes that it may prevent dementia. I usually tell people who want to microdose, to take an amount the size of their pinky fingernail. Most folks wouldn’t feel high or altered at all, but it’s kind of like taking an antidepressant medicine (without the side effects). I assume that you’re talking about p. cubensis, which is the most common species that is cultivated and used these days. There may be stronger species, like p.cyenescens where you would feel that amount slightly. I took a half a gram of cyenescens 3 summers ago and it blew me out of the water. MUCH stronger than the more common cubensis. That was my last mushroom journey and I haven’t felt a need to do it again.

LOL. “Do ketamine and fuck around with the government a little.”

I’m afraid that Elon is giving a good medicine a bad name.
It’s a very good medicine for depression if used correctly, but not addictively. When it’s prescribed for depression, it’s supposed to be used only once or twice a month under controlled observation.
It seems like their are a lot of enabling doctors who give the rich and famous whatever drugs they want and as much as they want.
Then we get Matthew Perry drowning in his hot tub, or any number of celebrities that have OD’d from opioids, benzos or any number of things combined with alcohol.

I think in 5-10 years people will look at Musk as a Saint. Maybe sooner.

Hate hysteria mobs dont last forever, they need a constant flow of new fresh meat to incinerate in their rage infernos

Well the word seems to be that Musk is abusing ketamine and often seems to be acting “high” and crazy in public situations. No one knows for sure if he is abusing ketamine and of course he denies abuse. Some of his behavior, such as jumping around on stage with a chain saw, or slow rambling irrational answers to questions have made people think that he’s high on the stuff much of the time.

“A Saint”!!! :joy:

Regardless of what one may think of his governmental efficiency activities, “saint” is not the first word that. would come to mind.

You think he is the reincarnation of Christ?
I admit, I may have down played his holiness…

His Holiness the Dogey Lama. :joy:
But I’ll believe that he’s a saint when I see him cut through his own ego with that chain saw.

LOL! Too fucking funny my Friend! That one was really good!

I often wonder if the 'ego’s or 'persona’s we see on the tv and news ‘stage’ are fabrications of the rich and famous? How authentic are they really, or are they carefully crafted by teams of trainers and PR managers behind the scenes???

Could you imagine if maybe DJT is a peaceful Church mouse behind closed doors!?!?! And the Bombastic ballooned is is just an elaborate ruse?

Regardless, I think they both have hearts of gold. The Hate campaigns against them have been legendary, and the fact that they survived it speaks volumes of their resilience (even if Elon had to up his K prescription a little bit, and DJT had to up his chicken nugget prescription a little bit…)
