☀ Astrology & (Astronomy)

Diane is my aunt’s name (on my mother’s side)- her birthday is two days before mine so I was named after her. I never liked the name (nor that aunt, lol) and preferred Diana. My parents, particularly my mother, are interested enough in astrology to know more than just their sun signs, but none of them are astrology whizzes.

And yes, regarding the Dalai Lama’s birthday… His is the day after mine

Despite what people may suspect, I really don’t have any psychic abilities at all. I am mindbogglingly remedial with lucid dreaming too, which I feel like ought to go in the same category somehow. I missed out on those benefits of the element

Thanks for any insights you may offer on my chart! I will read the “yes man” report tomorrow

Yes, I had seen similar videos :star2: What I hadn’t seen was the movement outlined as shown in the second video - so cool. thanks for sharing, these were the best so far.

Indeed is just a question of the way we see things… just as I experience with this period. If we see it as cosmic alignment, we can SEE how the “delays” and “setbacks” are just the magics of life in motion…

m.r. is also great for seeing old friends and restarting things.

This is one of the reasons why you should always look at the whole. The house it is in and its’ relation to other planets makes the whole difference. Example: if you sun in cancer in the 10th house with saturn there, you can become an expert in the subject due to all the difficulties you felt at home, in your original family :star2:
this is just an example. the possibilities are infinite - and that’s what fascinates me about astrology - it’s a science that sustains intuition. example: you see one or two major aspects that impact you (if you have some experience in both astrology and intuition) and magically, the whole map supports that.

Another So interesting thing is that if you see a map today and again in a few months, you will see different aspects.

Another interesting fact is that if you study your own charts, life will unfold the chart’s understanding, little by little. Example: only after 48 years of living in this body and 29 years of studying astrology I could understand my Venus in the 8th house, which was when I started dreaming super lucid. It also shed light and understanding on my relationship with death. For me this is highly exciting because you can be an expert in astrology and even then, the chart unfolds itself through time.

Infinite Blessings to you “deer” @Parhelion

That is a cool coincidence

Dont sell yourself short.

The fact that you have had more than zero lucid dreams is a big deal. As is the fact that you can see patterns in peoples behaviors and their birthdays is also no small feat. For decades this stuff went way over my head.

Be patient with me, it will probably take me a few weeks to unpack it fully, this time of year is very busy.

I looked at it today, and 3 things stood out to me.

How much do you know about your Mercury placement?

How much do you know about your Mars placement?

Brilliant advice! These charts are like fractals, the depth is almost infinite.

Amen, the gift that keeps on giving. And the more you dig and explore, the more it will enrich your appreciation for your ego as well as the complexities of the egos around you. With the end goal ultimately being learning how to use this information to discriminate between higher self thoughts and egoic thoughts, and then ultimately transcend ego all together.

My biggest “claim to fame”- about 18, 19-ish years ago I had a friend… sort of a friend, anyways. We fought like brother and sister but kept hanging out anyways. Once the topic of birthdays/astrology came up. I didn’t actually know his birthday, but I was challenged to guess his sign. I said either a Gemini, Saggitarius, or Aries (IIRC… this was a long time ago!) He said I nailed it… of those three signs, I had called out his sun, moon, and ascendant. Slam dunked it! haha. It takes knowing someone well though I think to do that, and how often do we know someone well before even knowing their birthday. Maybe given more opportunities I’d have more “slam dunks”.

Seeing my chart, you can probably image why a Gemini/Sag/Aries and I would “fight like brother and sister”

Well, the Mercury I haven’t paid much attention to. But my Mars in Scorpio resonates deeply. I can’t put it into words… after all, Scorpio is deep and mysterious.

Another thing that I have found peculiar, and likely not coincidence, is that there are certain signs that keep popping into my life (sun sign anyway) as people close to me. Either as friends, community/sangha associates, or romantic partners. Those patterns can shift over time but it makes me think of having specific karma to work out.

I am really glad you mentioned this phenomena! I had the EXACT same thing happen to me a few years ago. I dont think it is a coincidence either…

Most definitely karma at work, teaching some kind of lesson or important message.

It works in mysterious ways, my first 3 girlfriends were all the same sign, and I didnt find out till years later that sign was incompatible and notorius for being a heartbreaker. LOL painful lessons, but very important, it openned my eyes to respecting this ancient art.

I can indeed, can you? :slightly_smiling_face:

I will start with Mercury. Glad you picked up on the powerful energy of Mars in that placement, will have more to say about both later, but a brief overview of the Mercury:

Your Mercury is Basically a Leo/Cancer, because it is so close to the cusp, meaning you are going to take on the energies of both those signs in how you communicate, think, and collect, process, and analyize information.

This is a pretty good overview of boyh, think of your Mercury as being a vendiagram of both:

" "What style of communication do we use? How do we make decisions? How do we pick up, process, absorb, and exchange information?

These questions are answered, in part, by Mercury’s placement by sign of the zodiac. You may be an Aries, but you could also have Mercury in Taurus, so your style of communication is not quite as spirited as one would expect from an Aries. refines the Sun sign, and it helps to define how we take in–and give out–information from the world around us."

"
Mercury in Cancer

These people communicate with feeling, conveying a sensitive, withdrawn, and thoughtful nature to the people they interact with. If this is the only personal planet in Cancer in their chart, they may come across as more personal and sensitive than they actually are.

No matter how free-spirited the rest of their natal charts may be, Mercury in Cancer people can be very subjective and personal, or they opt not to talk at all. They are slow to respond at times, giving others the impression that they are deep thinkers. They probably are just that. Cancer is a meditative and reflective sign. Still, Mercury in Cancer people are much faster at forming opinions and making decisions than they appear. Because they listen so well to others, this speed is not obvious.

You can bet that Mercury in Cancer natives will remember almost anything — from their own past, to your conversation two months ago. You might notice their memory is a little skewed in the direction of emotion. The truth is, these people remember the mood surrounding all the moments they have stored in their memory. This is because they “feel you out” when you are talking to them. The words are not as important to them as the emotions behind them.

Cancer communicators come across as gentle, intuitive, and sentimental. Sometimes, they can appear quite defensive, as they can take things quite personally. They make you feel very warm and protected. Sometimes it is in their voice (solid yet soothing); and often it is in the message they are giving. Sometimes Cancer communicators can come across as if they are hiding something, which can get them into more trouble than they perhaps deserve.

Mercury in Cancer retains a lot of information, and learns best when they feel emotionally balanced. They prefer to focus their concentration on subjects, and approach problems in a step-by-step manner, “feeling out” an answer. This position gives the gift of rhythm and beat.

No matter what their Sun sign (and it can only be Gemini, Cancer, or Leo), Cancer communicators seem to have feelers. They pick up people’s emotions in conversations. They are the best listeners of all the signs. In fact, it is extraordinarily easy for them to get “lost” in the other person’s expression and opinion. For a while, they can almost lose their own opinions and completely step into the other’s shoes.

You can count on Mercury in Cancer to come up with information, culled from their outstanding memory, that others have long forgotten.

Cancer communicators’ style is to avoid arguments. But, make no mistake about it, they can provoke arguments easily. They do this in a subtle manner, then get hurt when others argue with them.

Mercury in Cancer is generally attracted to poetry, archaic language, expressions of yesteryear, and the like. Because they are so aware of others’ emotions, they can be somewhat diplomatic in their dealings with people.

These people appear to take their time when they make a decision, and even when they form an opinion. They need to step away from others, and be alone with themselves to explore all that they have absorbed. They ask for time to stew over new information. They are impressionable, and the smart ones know it. Withdrawing into themselves helps them to discriminate.

These people can get frustrated with facts-only thinking processes. They also dislike distractions when they are talking or thinking. They need to focus on the matter at hand in order to come up with the best solutions to problems.

Mercury in Cancer can be very effective speakers and writers, especially if they have Leo or Gemini Suns. Their ability to “feel out” their audience is extraordinary. Also, they are able to present things concisely, yet powerfully.

If your Mercury is in Aries or Libra, you may find some of your conversations with Mercury in Cancer natives are frustrating. (The feeling is mutual, by the way). Aries communicators get impatient with Cancer’s slowness and indirect communication, while Libra communicators wonder why Cancer always seems to personalize what they say to the point of appearing like they have funnel vision. This latter is not always the case — Cancer communicators simply prefer to speak about the matter at hand, you and them, and not the rest of the world as Libra tends to do. Likewise, Mercury in Cancer can find Aries communicators rather brusque, and Libra communicators maddeningly detached or other-oriented.

Mercury in Leo

When Mercury in Leo people speak, they do it with authority. Some of them come across as know-it-alls, but the more mature ones speak with style. They want others to know about their presence of mind and their know-how.

Mercury in Leo men and women are adept at seeing the big picture, sometimes at the cost of ignoring the details. They are generally skilled at the art of persuasion. While others may try to win people over with logic, guilt, or wit, Mercury in Leo does it with warmth and good will. They are excellent at promoting ideas and getting their message across.

These people can be very attached to their opinions, taking pride in their beliefs, which are often rather idealistic. They are capable people on an intellectual level, and have an especial desire for self-expression.

Creativity is especially important to Mercury in Leo people. They present themselves with a certain amount of flair, and even drama. Often passionate and enthusiastic speakers, Mercury in Leo people get their message across with zeal. Some people with this position have developed a perhaps more sophisticated manner in which they present their ideas and thoughts, and these natives possess admirable style and warmth.

Depending on the confidence level of the whole individual with this placement of Mercury, a stubbornness in the face of criticism or over-sensitivity to anything less than praise is present. Whatever the reaction, Mercury in Leo natives can be mentally arrogant. Mercury, by nature, is detached and reasonable. In Leo, however, the ego comes into play very strongly when it comes to intellectual analysis. With intellect and ego so closely tied, the ability to separate fact from fiction can be impaired. In some, boasting may be a problem. Probably the best way to handle this position is to find self-expression in some creative field. Mercury in Leo natives can be magnificent story-tellers, for example, mainly because they have such a wonderful sense of drama. They speak and write with heart."

The explanation for Mecury in Cancer is much better than the one for Leo.

This is definitely something you should look into further. A lot of water in your chart, but there is (about 50%) fire hidden in your Mercury .

Oof! I went through a phase where I kept ending up with Geminis in my life (as friends or crushes… I don’t think I ever dated one). Several people I loved and/or was in serious relationships were Sagittarians. I feel like that energy is a good match for me, and after several of them, it feels comfortable- like I know what to expect. I did have an explosive boom-and-bust with an Aries years ago… an extremely powerful connection that led us to circle each other, like planets orbiting and coming into conjunction only every few years or so, for quite a while.

My first reaction to this is to scoff at the suggestion that I listen well to others. I feel like I’m not good at that. But perhaps I’m just comparing myself to a higher standard. After my initial reaction I did reflect that my career as a nurse- almost a decade of which has been in hospice- requires me to listen carefully to what people are telling me. Behind the attentive exterior, my mind is working quickly through mental algorithms to come up with a treatment plan which I can share by the time they are done speaking. So maybe it fits after all.

I am a champion grudge-holder.

Same to this- I am “overly sensitive”.

I would continue but am suddenly very tired. To be continued!

This is what some call the ‘Dark Horse’ combination. It can be either really good or not so good. The two signs are very different, but these differences can often still be harmonius. The other DH combo for you would be with an Aquarius.

Very interesting. The boom is shocking, the bust, not so much. The only thing in your chart I see resonating with an aries is your Mars, and the 2 planets in Sagittarius.

Yeah that was really impressive! Definitely shows how powerful your intuition (and psychic abilities) are.

I had a really amazing interaction with a Scorpio sun Cancer moon this summer. Almost a complete stranger, after a short hike I asked her if she could guess my sign, she got it right on the first try! She was humble like you.

Nurture your gifts…

Very glad you told me this. As I wrote above the nurturing energy of Cancer is second to none. Bery cool you found a profession that puts that skill to good work.

Maybe?!?! :innocent:

Textbook Cancer & Scorpio

Also textbook Cancer.

Your moon positioning is somewhat disharmonious to alot of the planets in your chart

The position of you of your Jupiter is something to take note of as well.

Aquarius… Is a sign I often forget even exists. I haven’t had an even slightly close connection of any kind with someone I knew to be an Aquarius. It’s like they just disappeared off my karmic picture, or we’re ships passing in the night (through the day-dream of life).

Regarding Sagittarians… It isn’t a “perfect match”, per se, but there’s something about them- at least the ones I loved- that felt like really strong chemistry. All three seemed outwardly like very different people, but there’s an ineffable core of similarity. But maybe that’s just the power of suggestion. :woman_shrugging: IIRC all three had birthdays very close together, too. (not same year, but calendar date.)

Thanks for the responses. Too late now to write more, and I have a jam packed day tomorrow. I will revisit on Wednesday, hopefully!

Finally had the chance to read through everything  The description of Mercury in Leo fits me extremely well- and a lot better than Mercury in Cancer.

There are some areas of life I am curious to know if are reflected in my chart in some way. I’ll list a couple:

  • Difficulty forming close friendships, feeling like a bit of an oddball, social misfit, or outsider. (Side note, this feels similar at times to the lack of rootedness to “place”, discussed below.)

  • Restlessness, not feeling strongly connected/rooted to any one place- a “nomadic spirit”, preferring to move around frequently. Cancer is said to be much about “home” so I figure this lack of rootedness to any one place must come from other factors in my chart. The desire to move around has many nuances. At some times it has been about being unhappy and wanting to try my luck somewhere else (looking for happiness elsewhere; the grass is always greener). Other times it comes from a more joyful, expansive, creative energy- wanting to exerience new things, wanting to explore and have adventures. Underlying all of that there is a dis-ease about feeling stuck and tied down. I feel constrained and burdened by having many possessions, especially ones that cannot be easily moved by myself alone (such as furniture). I want to feel light and free- to live lightly. Having “stuff”- which tends to accumulate the longer we are in one home- fetters me and I get antsy. I want to pack up a suitcase, or at most, my car- and just relocate on a whim. I like the way moving somewhere new shakes up the reified self; one is reinvented and the “self” feels more transparent, as we see how much of what we think of as our identity is actually just a product of our environment. However, paradoxically, by dis-identifying with place/locale, I feel a stronger depth of self, a stronger core (but maybe the good kind). I do connect all this to a synergy or affinity for the spirit of a wandering yogi(ni).

Thank you for sharing this. I wish the description had included more of the positive traits for Leo, like:

  1. They make some of the best fathers
  2. Optimistic, ‘sunny’ disposition
  3. A desire for ‘the best’, which when they transcend the ego, makes living in their orbit a joy.
  4. Very creative, and a strong passion for creatung things.
  5. Romantic
    etc, etc, etc.

Like I said, a lot to unpack , and the broad stroke summarys will never doa chart justice, but they do provide a good road map for further self discover.

The cancer, scorpio, and capricorn in your chart may be ar play here.
Cancers often build a thick shell to protect protect their sensitve interriors.
Scorpio knows how ruthless the world is, and will guard many of its secrets, often to the grave.
Capricorn is the same, and will often only share about themselves to very close and intimate friendships.

This more reserved chrarcteristics, can make forming deeper bonds more difficult, along with the fact that hurting any of those signs, or abusing their trust, will often mean the end of any intimacy or depth.

The moon in libra can be a poeplepleaser at times, and because relationships and friendships are so important to it, these natives will often sacrifice their true feelings and needs from being heard, in order to preserve the social contact or relationship.

Very glad you wrote about this in depth, thank you for that.

Look no further than your Uranus and Neptune in Sagittarius. The two planets in Scorpio also may be at play here.

The paragraph you wrote describes the engery of Sagittarius perfectly. In this sign more than most is a strong desire to explore not just the physical world, but the wisdom and deeper secrets of this universe.

The scorpio energy is extremely transformative. Meaning when things or places no longer serve you, its time to take them out behind the barn and shoot them, so to speak.

The energy of cancer isnt so much about being anchored to 1 home, but is more so about the housing they live in needs to be a sanctuary and in harmony, and if there are problems in that space, it will deeply upset them.

Uranus placement:

"You’re most interested in making changes, innovating, and updating traditions related to beliefs, the seeking of meaning, freedom of speech and thought, philosophies, attitudes, religion, cultures, education, spirit, and vision. You seek more freedom in or through these areas, and you don’t feel much need to conform! You may believe in breaking through some of the inhibitions or taboos related to preconceived ideas as well as current education and belief systems. Despite the need for progress, you can be very stubborn and set in your ways in these areas. You may challenge authority or rules and laws in place only if you feel they are limiting our progress, seeking to revolutionize the ways we view others, different cultures, and belief systems.

You are optimistic and believe in progress and change, although you are not always as interested in the details of a particular pursuit as you are the big picture or vision. Since you believe in the power of inspiration, rote learning can be unappealing. You have an excellent feel for trends and work best on inspiration, impulse, and intuition."
