I worked with AI for a bit to come up with a custom mantra. Here is a summary of the mantras in the order they were placed:

  1. Universal Well-being Invocation

    • Wishes for happiness, health, and auspiciousness for all beings.
    • A call for the alleviation of suffering for everyone.
  2. Self-Realization and Divine Unity

    • Acknowledgment of the self as a part of the divine essence.
    • Affirmation of infinite capability and the inner journey of discovering the true self.
  3. Salutations to Deities

    • Honoring Shiva, Ganesha, and Saraswati for wisdom, removal of obstacles, and the arts and learning.
    • Recognition of their guiding presence in the spiritual journey.
  4. Affirmation of Eternal Light and Divine Presence

    • Declaring oneself as a manifestation of divine light and consciousness.
    • Inviting the constant divine presence within the heart.
  5. Identification with Shiva

    • Embracing the essence of pure consciousness, bliss, and existence beyond physical form.
    • Recognizing oneself as part of the eternal, formless divine.
  6. Invocation for Peace, Purity, and Divine Grace

    • Requests for peace, clarity, and the divine grace to guide and purify the spirit.
    • Calls for joy, divine beauty, and liberation from worldly sufferings.
  7. Wisdom, Love, and Devotion

    • Seeking wisdom to purify the heart and to experience the true form of love.
    • Dedication to following the path of righteousness, prosperity, desire fulfillment, and spiritual liberation.
  8. Repetition for Emphasis and Closure

    • Repeating the initial wishes for universal well-being, emphasizing the song’s core message.
    • Concluding with repeated calls for peace, signifying the end of the prayer and the internalization of its message.
  9. Closing Om

    • The final “Om” signifies the ultimate unity with the divine, encapsulating the essence of the entire chant and marking the end of the devotional song.

Welcome, cool synchronicity with your post. I started a book and it read this part right as I was researching what this mantra meant.

““Nama Amida Butsu” is a phrase from Japanese Buddhism that translates to “I take refuge in Amitabha Buddha” or “Homage to Amitabha Buddha.” Amitabha Buddha is a celestial Buddha according to the scriptures of Mahayana Buddhism. Chanting “Nama Amida Butsu” is central to the devotional practices in Pure Land Buddhism, a branch of Mahayana Buddhism. This phrase is a form of nembutsu, which is a meditative practice of calling upon the Buddha’s name. It expresses the devotee’s faith in Amitabha and the wish to be reborn in the Pure Land, a place where enlightenment is guaranteed.”

Enjoyed the mantra.

@_Barry. Now I feel inspired to attain Tara’s Pure Land! A beautiful green forest and “resembles some sort of fantastic heavenly rock ‘n roll party”!!! Sign me up!!! Reminds me of a music festival that I used to go to in Oregon. Seems much more beautiful and fun than Amitabha’s pure land :joy:
But hey, whatever motivates you to practice, right?

I used to live in Oregon and it is stunning. I used to live in Nepal, it is also stunning.

Good info on Tara’s Pure Land can be found in a past discussion here, as well, you may recall.
