My project, exploring galantamine over the last 196 days

Interesting synchronicity :slightly_smiling_face:

Will give my interpretation in another post, heading to bed soon, but wanted to get this off my mind before I forgot:

Just got done reading that chapter, another interesting synchronicity, it was the chapter I started reading on sunday, but read only the first page (it doesnt get into gift dreams until the second half of the chapter).

Did you make a drawing of the note she gave you that had your name on it and the [sound] Wave? Either way, would love to see what it looked like exactly.

Can you provide any other details about your moms chocolate gift dream? Does she like chocolate? Is she allergic? Does this gift have any sentimental memories that only yoir mom and grandma would know about, like she got chocolates as her favorite wedding gift, or as a gift for graduating high school?

Will provide the longer detailed description of the chapter in another post, but here is the short hand cliff notes:

In about half the dreams Garfield decribes as gift dreams, it involves strong elements of precognition (there were more precognitive dreams in this chapter than any other I have read so far).

The other half of the dreams involve the gift symbolizing something, or being a gift of information, like how to write the introduction of a book.

I botched the title of the book, it is The Dream Messenger by Patricia Garfield.

The Frequency of these gift dreams is considered rare, so definitely something to really take note of.

Not sure what the message is, but something tells me there is a strong probability there is an element of precognition in one or both of the dreams.

I think I can explain it but if you want I could also draw a picture. It was about the size of a postcard and it was split in two sides. The left side had my name Matt and the right side had a sound wave it was a single spike then it leveled out. It reminds me of what a single hit of a drum looks like inside video editing software.

I dug up the dream journal entry from that night and had my mom do the same. It was the night of 1/30. The journals don’t make perfect sense, mine is better then normal(mine usually have tons of typos and I have to try to understand what I wrote the next morning lol) because of how vivid my dream was. When I have a drea m like this I try to put effort into Journaling when I wake up.

Here is mine (Dotsie is my grandmother):

This is my mom’s from that night:

Dotsie brought me chocolate flavor, called citric acid chocolate we were talking about how we were watching a guy come through ice in and out and his wife was yelling at her because she thought it was something wrong. However, he was in a prototype and he was using it with a robot and he was actually in it so she was really mad at him because he was operating it remotely and she was three months pregnant There was a shanty were keeping a little puppy.

She said the robot thing was the guys wife being concerned about his safety because he was on the ice and she was pregnant but it turned out he was not in it. When my mom was pregnant my grandmother was the primary person that cared for her (might be related?).

She said the one association she has with the chocolates was one year when my grandmother burned her chocolate cookies and hid them from herself. She was always very proud of the cookie trays she would give everybody.

An association I see now see after my mom said that may be to the way she passed. She had alzheimers and she passed in her house from a house fire. The investigation into how the fire started resulted in finding there was something left cooking that started the fire.

Also she said she could see the shanty in the dream being a representation of her family’s original house.

Interested to hear your insight into this. It is a cool synchronicity that you happen to be reading a book about these types of events. It was one of the more powerful dream events I’ve experienced for a long time. It reassured me again that there is something more to dreams then random events.

I would love to see it. To be honest, I think it is the most important of the dream. Simple but cryptic at the same time. Was it folded in have, or just divided evenly on the right and left side?

When I read that she had died in a house fire, my mind made that same association.

The first part of the dream is pretty cryptic, nothing jumped to mind, but will think it over.

I think so too, also very cool that the book said these gift dreams are pretty rare.

This is what it looked like although the writing was precise and the soundwave was also. It was a simple design which is probably why I was able to remember it without effort.

There was no visible division on the card but it seemed like the note was broken into two equal halves, left side was for my name and the right side was for the sound wave. The reason I say that is because they both seemed like they were centered on their respective half.

That is really cool, very glad you posted it, becuase I visualized it looking like a skewed Bell curve, single wave:

When I saw the drawing you made, what immediately came to mind was those machines at hospitals that moniter the heart beating:

When I clicked on the image in google images I liked and wanted to see more similar to it, these came up:

Maybe it was a coinicidence, but also one of the things that poped into mind when I thought of the heart rythm, was that maybe she was using it as a symbol to tell you she loves you?

Could be so many things. It also reminds me of a chart graph I saw in physics class in high school, where it was explaining that vibrational energy weakens over time, but it never fully disappears, it just becomes so subtle that you can no longer measure it with intstruments, but it is still going, infinitly vibrating, just smaller and smaller waves. That may be the message too, that her vibes are still there, just very very subtle.

Also worth noting is how it might tie to the comment I made about your profile pic: “Waves of a body of water meets waves of bodies”, and how so many things in nature move in waves.

Whatever the message means, I think when the true meaning dawns on you in your life, you will know it, with a Eureka like feeling that also brings a flash of the memory of the dream. If you are too impatient for that, you may try to summon her in one of your next lucid dreams and ask her what it means, or ask her the next time she appears to you randomly while dreaming.

Here are some pics that illustate the physics concept of wave decay that goes on to infinity, imagine that if all these charts were drawn out long enough, the line of the wave would eventually look like a flat horizontal line streching outnto infinity (very similar to the ending of your wave pic):

Very cool dream my friend, appreciate you sharing it :slightly_smiling_face:

As I was drawing it I too thought of the heart beat monitor. That plus the chocolate cookies being burnt seems interesting. What I saw was closest to this one:

Will keep an open mind and look out for her in my dreams. I never try to force things in them I’ve always been somewhat of a passive explorer in dreams.

That is pretty cool a concept I’ll explore this just out of curiosity.

A thought came to mind and it is a huge long shot but because of the synchronicities with you reading the book and the dream lining up the way it did I was curious if there was anything related to what we saw in your dream journal on 1/30.

Definitely a long shot but I thought it was worth a check.

I was thinking the exact thing when I read the date, but forgot to check. Just looked now, it happened on 1.28.23, approximately 48 hours from your dream…

I revived the thread I made on it “5th LD since joining NC” and tagged you. If you do the math from the day I posted it, 2.14.23 minus the 2 weeks I mention in the OP, you get that day.

I am laughing and smiling at how crazy it is that all 4 of us, you, me , your mom and mine, all had death dreams within about the dead in a 48 hour period. Kind of mindblowing stuff! Especially becuase it was the first time both you and me both dreamed of our dead Grandmas!

Really crazy synchronicity my friend! Fucking Unreal!:

Yes I agree. This is pretty awesome. :upside_down_face:

I always say synchronicities are like sign posts pointing us all in the right direction. Dreams are the way! :slightly_smiling_face::face_in_clouds:

And I did not mean to dodge your question about what dream happened on 1/30 in my dream journal. I did not write down dreams for that night. Bad habit, I know.

Ah ok didn’t want to pressure at all.

I was just laying down and I wanted to look at my dream journal to see if there was anything else and this was on 1/29. Not as much of a synchronicity but still thought it was cool to add:

I am still blown away by the fact that we had such similar dreams at almost the exact time. Pretty Amazing!

I think you are spot on with that interpretation.

For me its kind of a fancy way of saying God exists, although, it does depend on how you define God.

Just received a new batch of galantamine (pink pills, not purple or white, or capsules) and it looks like it comes from a different manufacturer, Aurobindo Pharma Limited. I’ll be interested to see if there will be any difference in its effects, given there is no reported production consistency, or synthetic vs other methods of production, amongst versions of the drug that I’ve seen. Here is the Label Information for FYI.

PS Looks like a switch from a Chinese Company to one based in the USA but is manufactured in India.

Ah, should be interesting to see if there is a difference. I still have two months of the old stuff left before I get a new prescription. Thank you for the information.

I’m trying 30 days without galantamine right now and am on day 20. The difference is very clear, vividness, ease of lucidity and recall are severely effected.

Today I feel like I have regained my dream recall to about 80%. I am recalling on average 4 dreams but I feel that I am unable to recall what happen the entire duration of the dream. After each dream I am putting a large amount of effort into remembering them and it is starting to pay off.

Have 10 more days before I take galantamine again. One interesting side effect worth noting is how much it has changed the value I place in my dreams. They were so vivid for a long time that it became like my second world. Having just 20 days away has really balanced the two worlds.

I am reminded of my favorite quote from Dreams of Light “Dreams become increasingly real. Waking reality becomes increasingly dream like. The unreal becomes real, and the real becomes unreal, until both states merge in nondual equanimity: neither real nor unreal. Which is precisely what reality is.” The emphasis after this experience so far being about the two states merging.

So it’s been around five years of working on lucid dreaming, at first to alleviate insomnia and then for other purposes. With this new Galantamine (made in India), and a more focused intent, I’ve been getting lucid more often, three times this week alone—two nights in a row. It’s not necessarily the new formula only, but a combination of it with surrender, study and serendipity.

That is really awesome. What kinds of study and techniques have you been using?

I had my 9th LD last night since joining last May. Still having trouble stabilizing them and elongating them.

That’s awesome to hear. Congratulations! I’m looking forward to taking the galantamine again. It is one of the few medicines I have seen direct and immediate changes to my dream state with.

Sweet, Congratulations to you also! If it is a DILD the method that works best for me is acting like a ninja right when I become lucid. I try to follow what is happening in the dream until I find a point where it feels natural to change things.

If it is a WILD the stabilzation is much different. I’ve tried a lot of what people have suggested in lucid dreaming books and videos and had some success. Usually I let WILDs just play out on their own. I’ve had a few where I tried stabilization techniques and they woke me up, in particular the technique where you try to engage the sense of touch. I always try to stay in the flow of those dreams and stabilization seems to be more successful.

In both cases the #1 thing is to limit your excitement until you are atleast 30+ seconds into the lucid state. There is a point in the beginning when you have to control excitement but once past a certain threshold you can bring excitement back into the dream without waking up.

In the end I think it is mostly about finding the sweet spot that works best for you which will naturally occur in time.

Love this advice, thank you. All of my LDs have been DILDs somfar.

Thats a really great tip, and I think it maynbe what is causing me to wake up, I get really excited on what I want to do

I wonder if it is because you are staying focused on an object for more than 5 seconds. I have read that if you try to stare at an object too long in the LD, it will wake you up.

Do you meditate?

What is your meditation practice like?
