I haven’t tried this method to stay lucid longer as, nowadays, I am mainly using the WILD technique. However there is a parallel in that in all cases knowing you are dreaming is the key, therefore knowing the state you were in before being lucid reinforces this.
I have for example told people in the dream that I am actually in bed asleep with my wife. This confuses the people in the dream of course but that can be amusing in its own right.
Any technique to demonstrate that its not a waking state is also beneficial. My most frequent is to push my hand through a solid object, like I wall or a door. I do this frequently to keep it going.
I hope you discover lucidity and remember that its not the length that counts, but what you do with the opportunity.
If you ever “meditate” in a lucid state then please reach out to me, as I am still looking for people I can relate to on this theme.
Apologies for the late reply. I find email forum notifications a bit challenging to keep up with.
Maple was lovely ― it also felt like I confirmed that that type of training is not for me. It is an intense container that really strived for awakening with concentration meditation. Focusing on the breath/body is a round-the-clock endeavor and there is very little ‘personal’ time (about two hours per day). I definately want to support my friends and other people who continue to choose that path, but I think I need something a bit gentler/more relatable to those I love.
I don’t mind round-the-clock ‘practice’, but perhaps a different flavour would be a better fit for me.
I also feel deeply drawn to plant-medicines, and MAPLE (and their main teacher), from what I gather, doesn’t seem to be keen on incorporating any sort of ceremonial communion with those plant teachers.
They’re doing very interesting work trying to influence AI companies and creators to move in an ethically and morally aligned direction, which is very cool.
Thanks! but no problem, completely understand… I often have missed replying if I’ve read a comment to me and then distracted by another post (or life) and forgot to go back.
I had the exact start! (2010). I like to think of it as a “foot start”, step onto the ladder.
Ive come to see that because we are creatures of habit, we need “intense” and concentrated habit of some sort to be able to shift and ‘set an intention’. Its a bit like those books like The Secret by Ronda Byrne that talk about visualising something in the future for it to manifest.
I found there are many other ways (not just sitting on the cushion) to do a deep concentrated focused meditation (One-Pointed) which from my experience creates the same end goal; calming the winds of the mind.
At 5:25 - 19:20 Delson Armstrong’s tells his very interesting story of his different places he tried about (Andrew’s words) his “way in”.
That’s good if you are strongly drawn to a “way in”. I assume the plant medicine interest is something you’ll be looking into? @NightHawk999 may know who here in NC chat knows more on this.
Wishing you much success!

A link to great info:
Narration of a dream while dreaming is one of the best IMO stabilization/grounding techniques in a lucid dream. You’re basically “writing the dream journal entry” for the lucid dream while you are experiencing it. Describe every experience you have while you’re having it in the lucid dream. Highly recommended! Very interesting that you received this (well, something similar) in your dream! connecting to the prior dream I think is also good, but specifically for really grounding yourself in the dream environment while lucid, narrating the present moment experience is especially powerful.
