Article about psychedelics and dreams

@NightHawk999 This dude is crazy!
I think I’ll stick to boring old psychedelics.

When I was in High School in the early 70’s, my Biology class took a field trip to the venom lab at Los Angeles General Hospital. We went into a room that had just about every species of poisonous reptile, spider, scorpion, etc in the world. From these they created anti-venoms and shipped them to various places in the world to treat people who had been bitten. I remember the creepy feeling of being in a room surrounded on all sides with venomous creatures in terrariums.

That is so cool!!!

Not the most fun place to have a sleepover LOL
Terrorfyingly COOL  :skull:
Those beings put the cool in rigor mortis… :scream:

Its certainly probable.

But think back to the parasite video, and the ‘theory’ that certain worms may help strengthen the immune system. Not sure if you watched the full Venom video, but towards the end, it talks about how research is going on see if certain snake venoms can help fight Cancer.
Mindblowingly fascinating!!!

(Other than his close dance with DEATH) His health record seemed pretty flawless, and from a hollywood standpoint, for his age, he looks like he may have found both a Fountain of Death, and a potential fountain of youth…

Jon Hopkins - Music For Psychedelic Therapy

Not sure what qualifies as therapy music, but interesting concept

It’s generally recommended that psychedelic therapy music be without familiar words in a language that you understand so that your journey is not guided in any particular direction. I like to use instrumental music that is emotive and also music with a “spiritual vibe.” For instance mantra music is great. Some folks like Classical music (which was used a lot in the early psychedelic research in the 50’s and 60’s). It’s not generally recommended that you just put on all of your favorite familiar hits. Some contemporary musicians are writing music especially for psychedelic journeys. Jon Hopkins is one of these, as is East Forest (see my next post). Many people consider the music to be at least half of the trip.

This is a new documentary, “Music for Mushrooms”, about East Forest and his music that he composes specifically for mushroom journeys. He creates healing ceremony spaces in which he channels improvisational healing music. You can watch this film for a minimum donation of $5.

This is the original “mushroom music.” A recording of Maria Sabina, the Mazatec mushroom curandera who was visited by Gordon Wasson in the 50’s. She agreed to let him attend one of her mushroom ceremonies but asked him not to talk about it. He later violated this agreement when he published an article about it in Life magazine. Timothy Leary, then a professor of psychology at Harvard read the article and decided to go to Mexico to try the mushrooms (he obtained some mushrooms and tried them at his hotel - he never actually went to a ceremony). He was impressed with the effects and decided to start the Harvard Psilocybin Project with Richard Alpert (later known as Ram Dass). As word spread, Maria’s village was inundated with Westerners looking for the mushroom experience. This led to her ostracism by her own people. Sad story.

Here’s a contemporary song and animation inspired by Maria Sabina:

The spirits of the night produce life with their songs. The SpiritWoman, who understands the magic of nature, can cross between all realms, become an owl, water or a tree. This is an animation inspired by the ceremonial songs of María Sabina, a Mazatec woman who is knowledgeable about indigenous medicine, based on the knowledge and understanding of flora and fauna.
“Spirit Woman” is a mind-blowing hybrid animation collaboratively created by Latin American artists, directed by Adriana Ronquillo and La Furia Estudios for the new single by the innovative Mexican group Ampersan, produced by Chancha Vía Circuito and Biznaga Producciones.

Performer: Ampersan
Title: Spirit Woman

Last night I dreamed that I was at a huge psychedelic conference. Donald Trump was there and so was Rick Doblin, the head of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (the main organization that has funded MDMA research for PTSD and also funds a lot of other psychedelic research). It’s a massive gathering. I somehow end up sitting right across from Donald Trump at the dinner table. Even though I’m not a fan of Trump, I decide to be friendly and I play to his narcissism in the hope that I can help persuade the Trump Administration to move in a more open direction in approving the use of psychedelic medicines. We seem to have a cordial discussion. Rick Doblin gets up to speak and he is wearing a super-hero costume. I wonder if the costume is appropriate for this gathering. Seems like it would be more appropriate for a rave. But symbolically Doblin has indeed been a super hero for many years in his relentless support of funding psychedelic research, especially in trying to get MDMA approved. There is a powerful gray-haired woman moving through the crowd who has very compassionate but strong eyes. She is shaking hands with people as she moves through the crowd but moves past me at first without seeing me, but I try to get her attention and she momentarily catches my eyes with her gaze.

Here are some of my reflections on this dream:
I often dream that I am attending large conferences or other gatherings. My sense is that there are actual gatherings of souls on the astral plane where collective things are worked out. Some of these gatherings are more like celebrations or festivals, others are places of learning or where things are worked out and decided. This was both a place of learning but also a place where things were being worked out. Did I actually meet the soul of Trump in this dream world? My felt sense is “no” but that he represents, a kind of “Zeitgeist” (or Spirit of the Times). There is a MAGA Spirit (among competing timespirits) in this time and Trump represents that conservative spirit. Within the MAGA movement there are differing views on psychedelics but some are trying to nudge Trump in the direction of legalizing psychedelic medicine. (For instance RFK Jr supports the legalization of psychedelic medicine, so a part of me hopes that this could actually move the FDA more in that direction). On the other hand, there are aspects of the Christian right that would push against it. I feel that the gray-haired woman represents the Spirit of Compassion that is moving the world more towards psychedelic healing as an option.

So these are my reflections on this dream. A part of me is hopeful that the RFK Jr faction will move things in a more open direction with psychedelic medicine. The more libertarian Joe Rogan and Elon Musk types are open to psychedelics. I found this hopeful article about this:
https://www.politico.com/newsletters/future-pulse/2024/11/11/the-buzz-about-trump-and-psychedelics-00188669
But on the other hand, I’m concerned that the more cultural conservative Christan wing, such as the Heritage Foundation and their “Project 2025” will try to push things in the opposite direction.
Time will tell. But my prayers are for the Medicine to be made available to the vets with PTSD and all who need it!

p.s. A recurring dream theme of mine is being in large gatherings such as this. My sense is that there are actual gatherings of souls on the astral plane where things are worked out as part of our human collective evolution. I can’t prove that, but it’s my intuitive hit.

Where do you think Master Holecek goes for Bible Study!?!?!?!?

Cool Synch my Friend, I was actually thinking this very thought yesterday!!!:
“I wonder if there is a Top Secret VIP lounge for NCC, where members met up regularly and get instructions on the Dharma…”

Also, I shit you not, 2 days ago I dreamed about Donald Trump in a park or Golf course. The earlier part of the dream spoke to the dark side of drug use.
Maybe we were mixing Mind?!?!?

Suzie Wiles? Maybe. But she’s known as “the ice queen” so not sure how compassionate she is. The woman in my dream radiated compassion. She may have been “the spirit of MDMA” - a very compassionate medicine!

I didn’t know Holocek was into Bible Study?
If there’s an astral plane where he goes for Dharma Study, I’d love to go there!

I especially like this quote from Jung:
“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”

I am deepening more and more into the heart chakra in my meditation practices.
The heart chakra and the self-compassion connected with it is indeed very clarifying!
